(Answered) Confused about Ammo
« on: 31 January 2019, 19:41:32 »
I'm a bit lost when it comes to the management and usage of ammunition.

For example the Machine Gun

This is a weapon that does 2 damage and comes with 200 rounds of Ammo for 1 ton.

Is that mean you can shoot once a round for 200 rounds using that ammo?  Or is there something Im missing?

This seems wrong to me, I mean if its a machine gun and you are carrying 200 rounds, wouldn't it fire more than one round per attack phase?  Wouldn't firing one round at a time make this effectively an AC/2 but with really crappy range?

All ammo is for one turn of fire from one weapon.  So an LRM-20 fires 20 missiles with one round of LRM-20 ammo.  A machine gun ammo slot has 200 times it can fire a machine gun.  How many actual bullets that is doesnt matter.

And yes, it’s an AC/2 with crappy range.  The machine gun is also 1/12th the size of the AC/2. You get what you pay (tonnage) for.
