Title: Hidden Units and Pointblank Shots
Post by: Deadborder on 19 November 2017, 18:58:35
A simple research question; what book(s) have the newest/most current version of the rules for Hidden Units and Pointblank Shots (from hidden units)

I need them for a game tomorrow, but I realised I have no idea where to find the actual rules in question

Thanks

Pages 259 of Total Warfare has the rules as well, with a slight expansion to Hidden Units in Tactical operations, page 99:

Quote
Hidden Units (Expanded)
In standard-rules play, the player determines if any enemy
units lie within the detection radius of an active probe after
the unit has finished moving (see p. 129, TW). As an optional
rule, the effect radius can be active throughout the unit’s
entire movement. This allows a probe-equipped unit to
detect hidden units along its movement path, whereas the
standard rules can result in a probe passing a hidden unit
without detecting it.

Course, given the detection range of probes, that'd be a rather fast unit...

Note that the rules in the Manual are a lot clearer and cover additional situations the originals do not.  I was amazed at how ambiguous the originals were; must have rewritten that section a dozen times.
