Is there any update on the Locust 1V http://camospecs.com/IWM/Details/1706/locust-lct-1v as yet or is it still unknown (or something that can't be talked about)?

I think its on hold because of all the trouble with HG. If I´m wrong: pwease Senpai notice him!

Locust isn't a Harmony Gold issue.

As mentioned many, many times before, Catalyst has requested that IWM hold off on releasing any of the 7 Classic mechs that will be included in the future box sets.  Once those are released, we may start seeing some Classics start rolling in.

Phoenix Hawk IIC 7
XTRO Enforcer 7D (non-jumping version of the con exclusive)

Once again, no Anzu  :'(

Okay, so sorry, but I thought this was the case because they compared what I think looks like a Locust to a Marauder (https://www.unitedstatescourts.org/federal/wawd/242820/1-0.html) ; which is crazy.

Might check, I am pretty sure some of them have been . . . I need to see about a Sunder myself.  I have the Avatar and IIRC it used the same legs as the Mad Dog, so that might have changed especially since the Mad Dog got a resculpt IIRC and you have the II, III and IV to chose from if you want to change the look of the legs to being beefier.

Sorry, my brain translated that as Omni for some reason.  Yeah, I would not expect the protos to ever be resculpted too small a market.  I am not sure if the Reavings have even been made, let alone the 3145 protos.

Some have been made, but not all.

Satyr and Minotaur make sense, where's the art that would be used for the other two?

Well first.... Somebody needs to get really really drunk and play with some ugly minis.
Then they drink some more and make a call to commission new art, followed by much passing out.
Week later new art shows up for the ugly mini that got even uglier after heavy drinking.
After that it gets past on to IWM with a note not to get drunk and look at the original.
Curiosity sets in so more drinking, mold gets ordered, more passing out.
New mini gets released and no one remembers what happened. #P

Typically art is done in conjunction with a new product. We would need a book or PDF that had protos in them. Note: typically the small PDF products use previous art. That isn't always true but typical. Art is expensive.

Assuming a radical revision on the appearance isn't what you're after, I think the biggest obstacle is that the original sculpts don't lend themselves to modification. Specifically thinking of the Gorgon here, where I prefer both the 2 and 3 variants over the base model. Pulling off the LRM-10 would be no small task, and I'd be inclined to resculpt over modify for the amount of work that would go in and the uncertainty of what would be left of the torso. Then it's a question of cost versus sales to justify it. Protos clearly aren't everyone's cup of tea, and trying for a subset of a subset isn't going to generate much buzz.

I had the same thoughts. Years ago, I had tried to modify a Gorgon, it didn't work out

I wonder how much of that was because of the divise nature of the first gen sculpts. I think the sprite and the procyon quad are great examples of good looking protos. Procyon quad has the animal look without being too over board but the sprite I think nails an almost alien look.
I will keep beating this drum!

Well, the Sprite is without a doubt a fantastic looking miniature, a very detailed sculpt, nicely scaled and a joy to paint. However, I can't remember ever seeing a painted Sprite except the one I did for the IWM website ...  :-\

Hey Speck. Any news on the new DA Centurion variant? Last news I saw was back in September when you mentioned the 3D master was in. I'm looking at making an order in December, and I was curious if it would be out by then.

I heard from Speck about 2 weeks ago that it was getting molded. Haven't heard anything since...

I'd sure be interested in the Phoenix Hawk IIC 7
Epitaph on an Army of Mercenaries

These, in the day when heaven was falling,      Their shoulders held the sky suspended;
The hour when earth's foundations fled,         They stood, and earth's foundations stay;
Followed their mercenary calling,               What God abandoned, these defended,
And took their wages, and are dead.             And saved the sum of things for pay.

I think this is safe as the mini should be releasing any minute now....  Speck, let me know if I should take this down.

I am not totally pleased with how the paint job turned out.  And of course the camera makes everything seem worse.  This is a 3D printed prototype of the forthcoming miniature.

Here's the CAD model:

I like that a lot.  What pieces?  Looking at the model, I'd say feet, legs, hips, torso, and arms?
