Maybe the genecaste rumors were real and the Society was gearing up to fight the Magistracy's Ebon Magistrate :)

Is that how it works? I've always played it as frenzy attacks being the same as physical attacks dealt by 'Mechs, so damage/10, round up.
If Protos deal their full damage to infantry units...then yeah, the B-Qs suddenly become a lot worse.
Paul has it right. It's tonnage/5 (round up) as the base Frenzy damage. Proto Melee Weapon System adds another tonnage/5 (round up) * 2. Then its +1 for EDP against infantry (+2 against cybernetically enhanced infantry). Feralize doubles it on top of that.

I always took this to be the foreshadowing of something big; damn conspiracy theory hat.  ::)

Fletcher, you were warned...

Yeah, the Bquad is an expensive proto but not when you consider a few of them just took out my Blood Asp A with a 1/2 blooded star captain in it... yikes!

Paul, y'all nailed it with creating units that truly feel like they are meant to fight the clans and neutralize their strengths.

Well yeah, I completely understand that. What I'm wondering is if that total damage gets divided by 10 or not. It's not a burst-fire weapon, so no bonuses there, but does that make it a direct fire attack? Or does it fall under another category, kinda like vibro-clawed BA?

Okkk folks, quick update on the rules here: http://bg.battletech.com/forums/total-warfare/frenzy-damage-vs-infantry/

ProtoMechs deal full frenzy damage vs infantry, so as Paul said a Basilisk-Q with active ADP will deal a full 7 points of damage against infantry units, doubled if it's running on Feralize, and doubled again if the infantry unit is in open terrain. So theoretically, a single B-Q could deal up to 32 points of damage to Manei Domini infantry. That's...insane.

On the not-so-fun side of things, Protos just got a nerf as far as their Frenzy is concerned. They now have to be in the same hex as their target to deal their damage, so getting a B-Q into the right position when using Feralize is suddenly a lot harder.

Ah, now I see. I misunderstood the question.

I love making stuff that causes a rules Nerf. ;)

(The same hex clause was my suggestion. Fixes a number of things, and you'll have to admit that 12 possible attacks was a bit much... :) )

Paul
The solution is just ignore Paul.

Wow. I misread that new ruling the first time. I thought the same hex rule only applied to Frenzy attacks against infantry, but its ALL Frenzy attacks.

Oof.

Does the Taser Armour also include the chance to fry oneself?
Also, I think I'd prefer plasma against Zombie Platoons, a 24 man unit carries 16 medium lasers....

... damn, I wanna play those quads. Right up my alley.  [drool]

Nope!! They follow the Mech Taser rules, so you don't have to deal with any of that pesky feedback BA are saddled with.
