Posting problems specific to one board on the forum...

I suddenly have no ability or rights to post on the General forum. However, every OTHER forum is just fine, as pointed out with this particular post.  I look at the board in General, and there's no reply or anything else, and I found this out attempting to reply to a thread when I got an error saying I don't have rights to post.

I'm guessing it's a board glitch, or else something on my end, but I thought I'd mention it.  Is something wrong?

I just checked with Coyote808 and he's seeing the same thing.  It sounds like a 'you can only reply to your own threads' rule is boardwide, since I can post a NEW thread, but not reply.  It's like the Rules Questions board got set forumwide.

As with the other poster, I see nothing that should cause the behavior you're describing. You're not banned, or swept up in some kind of anti-spammer ban.

All I can ask is that you post a screenshot of the message next time it pops up. The one you posted indicates no error message.

I don't get any error at all.  It just won't let me reply to any thread that I didn't start, like the posting rules in the CGL Interaction section is now boardwide.  For me at least.  I can start new ones all day, but...that's going to get annoying...

Actually, you're correct, I just found the error I made.

Yep, normal users can't edit posts in a locked thread.  There's also an error message that's displayed in the posting screen.

Hmm, didn't see any massage; just now noticed the little lock icon. There wasn't the usual mod post, explaining why the thread was locked (was it a punitive action against me as the OP?).
Petty, I felt that with the exception of some trolling, we had rather productive deabe. I imagine trying to restart a similar thread would be a big NO NO.

The mod staff never discuss such actions in public. We also don't privately discuss actions with posters other than the recipient of said action. Therefore, unless you are formally warned for a post in the thread, the information you'll get regarding it is exactly zero.

Correct. The topic isn't prohibited forever, but letting it fade out of recent memory so people have a chance to cool down and/or formulate new ideas to contribute to the discussion is the goal.
