Well, I can't pass this up...

First, pencil me in for this week. I've been trying to get the Stinger done, and this is as good a motivation as any.

Second, please remove the Shogun and Horned Owl from my pending list. They have already entered circulation  ;)

Third, add the Dola, Sentinel, Dragon, and Berserker to my to-be-completed list. Can't really pass on the big lug...

I was actually considering the Dola, personally, but you can have it.

Biggest problem with the Dola is waiting for the record sheets... Specifically of the second variant. Something had to give, and I'm not sure I made the right choice when I entered it into HMP...

I'd just flag it as an unknown, list your guess (and make it clear that's all it is), and move on the way I did with a couple of Sarissa variants.

Will your Stinger article also cover the IIC? If yes, tell me should you need any help with it.

I think I'll try my hand at one of these and attempt the Penetrator.

I did a while back.  He said Heavy Ferro was the solution, and it worked perfectly for me.

Plotting to cover the IIC variants. Since the heat sinks covered by the engines don't change between variants, it seems simple.

Thanks. My solution was to maintain standard ferro, which doesn't help the armor situation...

Yeah, it is. Didn't want to change too much for the variant because I didn't see the Ravens putting too much time and resources into a variant that was mainly meant for freeborn warriors.

With the current drought of articles and the C3 thread in ground combat could I request an article on making/using C3 forces? I'd be especially interested in anything any body has to say about the first round of C3 networks, those built from the units in TRO:3050 and how games with them were balanced

Kit, I was suggesting that someone else write it, unfortunately I haven't been interested in the game long enough to give good advice in that regard and definitely not on the first gen C3 when it came out

Since nothing in the original TRO3050 has C3, that's going to be a very short article.

I think there was one Cyclops variant with a Master... but I can't remember any Slave units...

The original TRO:3050 introduced C3 so there would have been units using it in it.

Cyclops CP-11-C, Hatamoto-Hi HTM-CM and Atlas AS7-CM are all C3M units in 3050U with intro-dates between of 3052 or earlier which means they date back to the original TRO:3050 I believe.

There also 9 slave equipped units in the same boat.

And for laughs, a search for just C3 units in that boat also yields the Annihilator ANH-1A

I know the update (which I should get one of these days) added units with C3 but I remember the original (and the revision that chucked the unseen) having a frustrating lack of C3 designs. I only remember seeing a sentence or two under "variants" for the Cyclops mentioning a C3 Master as a common re-fit but not giving any stats to work with.  The first canon entry for a C3 master unit I remember seeing was the Naginata in TRO 3055.

No, it doesn't mean it dates back to TRO3050.  The only one in that list that was in TRO3050 is the Cyclops.  I'll admit that one was an error.  The other two are both from RS3060.

There also 9 slave equipped units in the same boat.

They're all from RS3060.

The Cyclops did have one - I forgot about it - but the lack of those units is probably one reason there were a whole pile of them added in RS3060.  The MUL Team later backdated them to the 3050-3052 time period based on the evidence.

In any case, we're getting rather far afield here.  I'm going to start pestering authors and see what I can do about getting something up Saturday (Friday is possible but unlikely) for this week.

So the CP-11-C was the only C3 unit in 3050? How did people use C3 networks then? Sounds like an article would be even more interesting.

So the PNT-C originally came out in 3060? Man that's just bad, I'd expected the OOC designers to be better at that point (Firing your 'Mechs main weapon shouldn't automatically result in an overheat at that point)
