Crazy question.
I was thinking as to why no one has developed a Alpha Strike type ruleset for the Battletech / Battlespace Warship combat. Fast play rules. Could it stimulate more interest in Warships? Just a thought.

They’re in the AS Companion.

For games involving actual maps, you want the advanced aero combat section of battleforce. It's in StratOps, and gives you all the fast play of Alpha Strike, while retaining the simple joys of pushing pieces of metal around a map. Alpha Strike's rules are great for waging a campaign for control of a world's orbital space, but unless you want to boil down local control fights to a few die rolls, I recommend Battleforce.

ok, yeah, what Weirdo said :).

Considering how truncated the main rules are compared to a full on tac simulator I would have figured the base rules where already pretty close to alpha strike levels of simplicity. Guess I was wrong.

You're actually right, it's just that the Alpha Strike aero rules are even more truncated than the ground stuff. Battleforce aero is about equivalent to Alpha Strike ground, it's Alpha Strike aero that's even simpler. No maps to maneuver on, just the radar grid and dogfighting rolls.

Many thanks. I need to get Stragegic Ops. :D
