Battletech Wednesday January 24, 6pm
At The Sword and Board 1(193 Bloor Street West - Rear
Toronto)
Beginners welcome, everything provided
Mission: PAYBACK
SITUATION :
ZENITH POINT
STYK, CAPELLAN CONFEDERATION
24 JANUARY 3018
(Excerpt from ROM report 30680127/1548-Gamma, filed by agent Ramrod)
Just came back from the briefing with Earthwerks’ people. Johnston is not happy with us taking the contract, but we have been sitting on our asses for the last two months, guarding a couple of warehouses filled with stuff that only historians and archeologists would love to have. Captain Derer invoked the training clause in our contract, and Johnston acceded, though in bad grace.
The job for Earthwerks is simple: they want us to target the Tao Mechworks’ research and development center on Styk’s Fire Island. Tao destroyed Earthwerks’ fusion engine assembly line back in March. The main target building is IDed as TM-834X-C; opposition is expected to be Tao security forces, with possible backup from Syn’s Hussars, the Confed’s garrison unit.

Hosted by Demo Agent # 902 "Paradox"

Aftermath:
Destroy the R&D building. Destroy the R&D building by round 10 Completed
Spare the Hussars. Do not cripple or destroy any Hussar forces present Completed
Cut them off! Destroy the communications array before the R&D building. Completed
AFTER ACTION REPORT
Captain Derer piloting the Griffin brought his A game and with 2 shot, the only 2 shots, on the Commando, cored it.
“He who will not be named” piloting the Urbanmech could not hit the broad side of a barn while standing still at point blank range, let alone a Mongoose.

AFTERMATH
Journal Entry #140
Good news, mission completed. Bad news, the repair bill’s going to be a bitch.
We landed a cargo DropShip near Tao Mechworks and left half the Cannons to secure our ride; the rest headed for Fire Island. As we got close to the target, we ran into Tao security. We pushed them back, but just as we reached the building, we picked up a Syn’s Hussars patrol coming in from the east. While Earthwerks didn’t care how much damage we did to the Tao boys, they didn’t want us wrecking CCAF units.
While we’re demolishing the building and keeping the Cap¬pies off us, Amanda took out a communications array tower near the building to hamper their communications. After we flattened the building, we hightailed it for the DropShip, with both the Tao and Hussars right behind us. But halfway to the DropShip, they stopped chasing and pulled back for no apparent reason.
By the time we reached the DropShip, all hell was break¬ing loose. We could see smoke rising near the city’s center, and Sanderson said the radio was full of police officers calling for riot control. We didn’t hang around, but loaded up and got the hell out of there.
We were out of Styk’s atmosphere before we found out what was going on. A full-blown riot was happening below us. I don’t know if it had anything to do with our raid. I hope not.
—Gannon Derer

Looking forward to next time gentleman

FLASHPOINT
SITUATION
LANDING ZONE ROMEO
NEW EARTH, BLAKE PROTECTORATE
22 JANUARY 3078
It is good that we meet death in this fashion, quiaff? The taint of the accursed is foul upon this land. They are worse than bandits or outlaws, and we will slaughter them. The Great Father set us upon this course so that we might kill our enemies and redeem our honor. My commander bid well; we shall be the first to spill the blood of our enemies.

Everything needed to play will be provided! Jump in and choose from two of the most storied and legendary mercenary commands in Inner Sphere history; the 4th Tau Ceti Rangers and their Star League pedigree, or the enigmatic Dragoons on the cusp of becoming the most important brigade in the Inner Sphere!

MORE THAN JUST MONEY
January 28, 3008
New Aragon, Capellan Confederation
After three years of service to the Federated Suns, the mercenaries of the Wolf’s Dragoons had made themselves invaluable to the war effort against the Capellans. Not quite the legends they would soon be, the Dragoons were starting to become a paragon of the mercenary trade and tradition.
On New Aragon, the Dragoons would prove to be a decisive factor in the fate of a world, but another mercenary regiment, steeped in years of tradition dating back to the Star League, is ready to stem the Dragoon tide.

Classic Battletech Game
When: Sunday February 11, 2018
Where: Black Knight Games
864 Mohawk Rd E, Hamilton, ON L8T 2R5
10AM - 5PM

The Ghosts that Haunt Us
SITUATION
Operation Guerrero
Van Diemen IV, Federated Commonwealth
10 October 3057
No matter who we justify our decisions, our skeletons tend to come back and haunt us.  Victor-Steiner Davion replaced Thomas Marik’s deceased son with a double, after he tragically passed in the care of the NAIS medical staff.  In order to continue in his war against the clans, Victor needed to keep supplies from the Free Worlds League coming to his forces, and he worried that the death of Thomas’ son would have the FWL cease their alliance or worse.  Worse happened…
Upon discovering the substitution in September, Thomas immediately arranged and launched Operation Guerrero in retaliation for the deception.  The Free Worlds League and Capellan Confederation simultaneously launched full scale attacks into the Sarna March.  The Free Worlds League mainly targeted former FWL planets.
The 10th & 23rd Marik Militia regiments, along with the 3rd Oriente Hussars, invaded Van Diemen in the First Wave in September of 3057.  The FedCom defenders, mainly in the form of the 5th Davion Guards and local militia, attempted to hold of the attackers and wait for reinforcements to arrive.
Play out this pivotal battle as the Marik Militia attempt to dislodge the Federated Commonwealth units from a vital urban area on the Southern continent… everything will be provided!  Just come out and play!

CLASSIC BATTLETECH GAME - TORONTO
When: Wednesday February 21st, 6pm
Where: The Sword and Board (1193 Bloor Street West, Toronto)
Beginners welcome, everything provided

MISSION: THE SKYE IS FALLING!
SITUATION
BUGBOTTOM SWAMP
SKYE, LYRAN COMMONWEALTH
21 FEBRUARY 3018
Journal Entry #203
Things are not getting better.
The last place we expected to have to fend off an invasion was on Skye. Demonstrations, riots, and the occasional attempted secession? Sure. But an invasion by the Leaguers? Skye isn’t happy with the Lyrans. What makes the Leaguers think they’d be any more welcome?
In any case, our babysitting job is on hold. Duke Kelswa-Steiner has called every militia and mercenary unit on-planet to Skye’s defense. IE doesn’t have a choice, and neither do we.
And now we have our first mission. Seems the Leaguers have taken over an abandoned LAAF airbase in some swamp and have been bombing the capital. The duke wants it taken out, and we’ve drawn the Joker. Doesn’t help much that we’ve got a lance of Skye Rangers to keep an eye on us.
I hope it’s worth it.

BATTLETECH GAME- Hot Lead Convention (Stratford)
March 17- 2pm-6pm
LAST STAND ON ITABAIANA
Logistical Hub LAW-8i, Tesouras, Itabaiana
Irece Prefecture, Draconis Combine
April 9, 3098
The Ghost Bear Dominion had been pressing its assaults on the Nova Cats for over three months, and with the first wave of assaults complete, the Dominion planned to begin the second wave. Khan Kabrinski had ordered Beta Galaxy to assault the Nov Cat logistical hub (LAW-8i) on Itanaiana. In addition to the strategic logistical hub, the Dominion felt the Nova Cats were using the system to move troops through Irece Prefecture. However, due to rising anti-clan sentiment attributed to the Black Dragons, all Nova Cat military forces had actually been rotated off world. The LAW-8i facility and most of the Tesouras continent was garrisoned only by Combine forces, in the form of the Third Pesht Regulars and some elements of the Ryuken and 1st Ghost that were caught on route to another system.
Largely outnumbered, the Combine commander Tai-sa Nanami Ueno, conducted multiple probing strikes using Nova Cat designed mechs. This ruse was an attempt to have the Ghost Bears believe there was an additional Nova Cat force on planet and to slow down their assault. Unfortunately the opposite happened, and the Ghost Bear offensive quickened. Galaxy Commander Vigo Hall was under orders to avoid Combine forces and only target Nova Cat forces and facilities. The multiple strikes by Nova Cat equipment however, made Hall believe the Nova Cats had integrated into the Combine forces and all Combine mechs were now acceptable targets. Ultimately it was this assault that brought the largely neutral Draconis Combine forces into the war alongside their Nova Cat allies against the Ghost Bears, and the Second Combine-Dominion War was born.
Play out the following scenario as members of the attacking Ghost Bears Beta Galaxy or the defending Draconis Combine Ryuken & Ghost regiments.

Battletech – Alpha Strike Game
Where: Hotlead 2018 Convention in Stratford, Ontario
When: March 17th @ 7pm
SECOND COMBINE-DOMINION WAR
Operation BLUEPETER - Wave 3 - Trondheim
As per their laid out plans by both Coordinator and the Nova Cat Khan to coordinate efforts against the Ghost Bears, the Pesht defeat on Itabaiana would signal counter offensive against the Dominion. Code name Operation BLUEPETER, this would be a multi-front military operation.
Targeted by the DCMS's High Command, Trondheim Star System was a Clan Diamond Shark administrated world which was being used to refit Ghost Bear clusters participating in the war. It's logistic importance to the Dominion's War effort, the Gunji no Kanrei Kiyomori Minamoto convinced the Coordinator to allow him to send a task force to assault the planet using two regiments and a WarShip.
In Mid-March of 3100, two regimental task force would arrived escorted by the DCS Draconis Drift in system. The Combine group would push it's way through Dominion aerospaces forces to enter orbit.
Play out the scenario as members of the defending Ghost Bears or the attacking Draconis Combine regiments.

The Coyote awaits.
Skilled and tenacious,

Pain at there sides,
Death at their throats

I've recently returned to the game after a few years off and I'm looking to reconnect with the local community.

All I see here are conventions and one game a month in Hamilton or Etobicoke. I'm looking for something more regular than that, and more Toronto-ish. Anywhere you could point me that doesn't involve Facebook would be appreciated.

Also, is White Knight still active?

Thanks.

7 AUGUST 3132

Beginning in the early hours of 7 August, one by one the HPGs across nearly 77 percent of the Inner Sphere failed, often in idiosyncratic and unexplainable ways. Some HPGs burned their cores out; some transmitted only every fourth or fifth byte. Some could receive but not transmit; others could transmit but not receive. A massive technological failure would have been bad enough, but that wasn’t all that hit a surprised humanity on the day that would soon come to be known as Gray Monday. A further 3 percent of functioning HPG stations weathered whatever had taken down the others only to subsequently fall victim to physical attack by unknown parties.

While reclaiming Terra from Blakist control, Word of Blake sympathizers destroyed a communications junction connecting the Baltimore area with New York City. Coalition members were forced to rely upon couriers to transmit data through the enemy communications jamming. With this loss of precious time, a ComStar unit was dispatched to repair the damage. They were about to cover up the repaired lines when a Blakist force at-tacked, determined to keep the lines severed.

All materials will be provided. Just come out an play!

Seeking revenge, the Nova Cat warriors of Xi Galaxy did not expect the utter ruthlessness of the Forty-second Shadow Division as the Blakists withstood another brutal push against their larger supply base.

Taking advantage of the situation, the DCMS launched a small flanking attack against the Forty-second, hoping to insert troops into their rear and cause enough confusion and give the Nova Cats a much-needed opening.
