Funny how you take a Pontiac Aztek, shrink it 25%, and call it a "Prius", and it's all the damn rage.

As an aside, I didn't mind the Aztek, but I also think the Chevy Cavalier Wagon with the V6 is the spiffiest car on the planet.

I know.  After it came out most other cross-over type SUVs tended to look really similar, just not as pronounced of angle.  I liked the Aztek, personally.  I wish it would have gotten the 3800 V-6 in it instead of that awful 3.4.  That was my only real complaint about it.

The front of the Aztec followed Pontiac design well, the thing that ruined the thing for me was the back end.  Suvs should not be hatchbacks.

That's a common FAIL in most car design

True, but on some, like the new Charger, I think the rear of the car really makes it great.

My point is if you look at the Aztec from the nose on, she is a rather stylish and cool looking suv, just never, EVER, walk Around to the trunk.  All of this should be taken with a certain grain of salt, as I am a humongous Pontiac lover, and kind of hate SUVs.

Agree and agree.

And always remember:  SUV is marketing speak for station wagon.

There are several SUVs/Station wagons that start out great on the nose, but the styling fails as you get to the back.  It's almost like they ran out of money and has to just chop off the back of the clay block.

I think the Magnum wagon was the opposite

I was thinking of a Mercedes SUV.  Ugly as sin from the back.  And it wasn't the cheap, entry level one, either.

Are there any truly "entry-level" Mercedes that aren't used?

I thought the back was OK, but they messed up mot putting the Chargers front end on it

At least the Magnum has a little umph under the hood, unlike...well, any station wagong since the 70s.

That could be said about everything made after 71 in the 70s

Hey!  I learned how to drive on the big V-8 Chevy Caprice Classic Estate Station wagons!  Those things were monsters!  A solid 9 MPG, transport 3 platoons of infantry (stacked properly), could carry (and serve!) two kegs out of the rear door...

I miss those cars sometimes...

I love me my station wagons. I had an 85 Ford Country Squire, whom I named the Big Beaver, because, well it was covered in beaver wood. Had the fuelie 5.0. While not the quickest car around, I did manage to surprise more then a few individual in my cruising days. Even picked up a (toothless) girl in it. I quickly dropped her off.

1970 AAR 'Cuda...

My buddy has a Bright Fire Blue Metallic AAR with rubber bumpers front and rear.  I've begged him for 20 years to sell it to me, but no dice  :'(

I've ever really thought about what my favorite car visually is.  I tend to think in "whole package."  Time to ponder this, but my guess is that it will be European, with prancing horse on a yellow shield...

Yes I understand.  Since cars are art to me this is a very tough question.  It's like asking what is my favorite painting?

I think it was more the wagon you chose that shocked and surprised.  Anyone can love any car.  I loved my rusty beater at 16, because it ran and I got to go where I wanted.  To each their own.
