Title: 'Mech Production Numbers
Post by: Sigil on 11 February 2015, 12:30:44
I've always been curious as to the output of various the 'Mech production facilities scattered throughout the Inner Sphere.  The only place I can recall seeing actual numbers, i.e., how many of a specific model 'Mech are produced annually by a given factory, were in the old original FASA House handbooks.

As the era's change, especially as new TROs come into play, it hard to determine which 'Mechs are still produced, which have been retired and which are upgraded to a new variant.

But most importantly, without this information it's difficult to determine the appropriate random distribution of 'Mechs post 3050 for force generation.

Hi,

Yeah, we stopped doing that a looooooong time ago, and most of us have never looked back since. The idea of production numbers for each make and model of 'Mech, vehicle, and fighter in the game was one of those details that only got in the way and drew far too much attention to an aspect of the universe that was never really hashed out in depth to begin with: its economics. The bottom line quickly became: they make however many we need for the plot at that time.
