So what's the deal with these two?
BF obviously came out first, but the stats between the two are similar, if not the same.
Is BF still its own separate game? Or has it been completely wiped out by AS? Should everything in StratOps be hit with a big piece of errata that says "see AlphaStrike" or do they still act like independent entities?
The difference is in Deployment of units and battlefield used.
Battleforce:
Units deployed at lance level with every marker/miniature equaling a lance/star/level II.
Uses hex maps.
Alpha Strike:
Units Deployed at element level with every marker/miniature equaling a mech/vehicle/infantry platoon/etc.
While it has a hex optional system is a miniature rule system first using inch movement and rulers and such.
So the rules differ on things that deal with range and movement.
And since the deployment is different it leads to BF needing rules to resolve targeting.
