So! Real life ding and all that. I'd not do much for my birthday anyhow but I am gonna have myself a nice steak i'll cook and some cider after work for sure!

Happy birthday! Hope the steak was good. And that the cider was too. Sounds like a good way to enjoy a birthday, whatever the circumstances. Although now I want a good steak.

(I'm assuming that you mean what the US calls 'hard cider', and what many in the UK call "I got drunk on that when I was a teenager, and now it makes me feel ill" - though I much prefer it to beer.)

I wish I was closer to 40 than 50... lol

Its not so bad really, just work extra hard to keep healthy because its a lot easier to slide now and much harder to get it back.

And the goal isn't to slide to retirement and bemoan the past, the goal is to "Finish Strong"

for my 40th Bday I bought a group package to a hockey game (some friends and family).  It was a heck of a good time.  Probably one of the best bday events I can remember. 

Enjoy it, even when your knees tell you "yeah don't run up these stairs"

30 passed, didn't freak out - I was a little late on some accomplishments but still working towards them
40 passed, didn't freak out - still moving forward, starting a family
45 passed, eyes going bad, knees already there, I would freak out but I cant afford a midlife crisis at the moment.

Thank ya for all the well wishes folks :) And don't worry I've not had a mid life crisis, i've done that with the aid of the kickstarter and a gift to myself because i'm a nerd and I went and got myself a biiiiiiiiiiig statue of a comicbook character.



And with my monitor for scale.  Yes there's some perspective work but his head is still higher than my monitor :D
