The Blue Shot Weapons exec looked at the specs of this... "Schildkrote." Hell, the original tank was not going to win any beauty awards except perhaps 'Tank Beauty Contests.'
But this? This was madness. It had been handed down from the LCAF High Command as a... as a... "VIP Carrier," harkening back to the heady days of the Civil War when the LCAF had the money to throw at two hundred million luxury armored limos for various generals. But this... This was madness. The design requirements came down as "Make a Schildkrote fly. But make sure it has room for my personal valets and whatever company I have. Also make sure it can fit a chef and bar."
What.
*****
The "Schildkorite" Wing in Ground Effect vehicle was commissioned by various members of the sociomilitary elite of the Lyran Alliance in 3142, with the desire for a quick, air-droppable hot rod of a tank that still had the Schildkrote's toughness. While the overgrown... "tank" has lost some of the advantage of its parent design, namely the armored chassis and tread system, the "Schildkrote" WIGE is a WIGE vehicle, allowing it unprecedented mobility. The best way to describe the vehicle is 'Someone gave a turtle wings and a jetpack.'
The exterior of the WIGE is almost identical to the original Schildkrote, although the WIGE is four meters longer, two meters wider and two taller then the original vehicle. The turret assembly was wholesale taken from the Schildkrote, leaving intact the LB-10X/LPPC setup, with complimentary AMS. Underneath the hood is a monster of a 310 XL engine, with Blue Shot unable to quite fit in a larger XXL engine for true speed and comfort. On the upside, the WIGE is much quicker then the original design.
Crammed into the back of the tank, away from the main fighting compartments is a kitchenette with room for a chef, comfortable accomodations for seven along with a massive, armored and full service bar. The main 'area' of the entertainment section also has mood lighting and leather couch seating.
