Deadborder's TRO Colourisations
« on: 15 February 2013, 06:13:07 »
As a random hobby, I like to colourise TRO Art. And who doesn't? So here's a collection of my work thus far.

Mad Cat III "Tomatocat" from my Dark Age fic series. The nickname "Tomatocat" is a lengthy in-joke, and heaven help you if you get it.

The same Miffed Kitten in the colours of the Mongolian Barbecue Horde mercenary unit. Who are they? Stay turned to find out!

(Both updated with new images)

TF Allen's Black Knight "Knightmare" from the same fic series in the colours of Bannson's Raiders. This is the one that is massively shrunk down to be my avatar.

Technically, it's not TRO art, but rather based off Dave White's awesome MW4 Black Knight redesign. You go Dave!

"Knightmare" again, this time in the pilot's own personal scheme.

Updated - new colouring technique, better quality image

Phoenix Hawk IIC "Grace" from my fics. The name is a clever reference; see if you can get it.

Now updated with new better quality image and newer colouring style

Re-do of the "Dead Master" Atlas with my newer technique and a better pic to boot. Other older ones are also being updated (and I wanted to take a break from MM icons)

What program are using for the colorizations?
Consigliere Trygg Bender, CRD-3BL Crusader, The Blazer Mafia
Takehiro 'Taco' Uchimiya, SHD-2H Shadow Hawk 'Taco', Crimson Oasis Trading Company

I use GiMP, a free program - http://www.gimp.org/. I should update it as mine's very out of date.

But I'm lazy.

Seeing as you enjoy painting TRO: 3085 art - any chance you could do some in some RAF colours? I'd love to see some Reoublic mechs!

RAF is on my to-do list; it's mainly a matter of finding the time and something to work on. I'm a big fan of the republic myself, and I have a few ideas that I want to let loose.

Ok, now it looks good (don't know why the MWO group uses such boring paint schemes...)

The Black Knight of my PC from the A Time Of War campaign I'm playing in, wearing the colours of the Crimson Voodoo Stables. There's no canon description of the colours, so I made something up.

Very nice work, I particularly like the deep red and steel grey look of that Black Knight.

Happy Cataplut day!

Megann Tenclay's Catapult "Slammer". I had to take a few liberties with the colour scheme here, as the orignal is solid blue.

Sadia Wolf's Catapult "Teddykiller". Yes, she called it that. That girl was not right.

Catapult from my non-canon Red Star Guards mercenary unit.

Catapult from my non-canon Mongolian Barbecue Horde mercenary unit. The 'Mech's name is a part of an elaborate joke. See if you can figure it.

Today's batch is based off the cover of ER3145, with insane amounts of modification and clean-up by Ironhawk

Dark Age Jade Falcon Mad Cat Mk IV. Note that while these are the colours from the CMG, I'm not sure if they're canon or not. Still, they look awesome. Bonus points if you can figure why the number "81".

Mad Cat Mk IV in traditional Jade Falcon Delta Galaxy colours. The best colours of any clan unit ever.

Anastasia Kerensky's Mad Cat Mk IV "Alpha". Her killing a traditional Mad Cat in its first public appearance probably went miles to selling the 'Mech.

The obligatory Mongolian Barbecue Horde version, piloted by the unit's leader.

Paladin (and later Exarch) Jonah Levin's Atlas "Solitude". Given that it's piloted by the head of state, this is the highest-ranked 'Mech in this thread!
