There are still a few stud kickers out there. Unfortunately for the Bucs, none of them are named Nick Folk.

I loved him afterwards saying "that loss is on me".

Yeah... we know, dude. Brady owes you something nice for Christmas.

Side note, how weird is it that Belichick had never coached a game in Tampa before now? I've been cursing his existence for most of my adult life, and just NOW he went there for the first time? Weird.

Go Chiefs.  ;D

Kansas City players, or people who are just passing through the area, come join us at the Geekery just off Shawnee Mission Parkway for BattleTech!  Current days are Tuesdays in the afternoon and evening.  I can't make every single week, but odds are pretty good that somebody will be there.

Man, the injury bug is bad this year.  Happy for a Chiefs W, but that's like four season ending injuries tonight.

Poor Giants.

Hey there could be an upside.  Their season is so far conforming to the plot of a feel-good sports movie where the relateable, ex-football player gets a golden chance to turn his life around as a walk on to his favorite team.

Maybe the Giants fans will, some years down the road, get a movie like Invincible about their own team.

The NFL wanted parity with the salary cap, and they got it in spades this season. Twenty three of thirty two teams are either .500, or one game above or below.

Much like my picks.  :-[

The best I can hope for this week is .500, and the Vikings need to lose.

At least at halftime we get a The Last Jedi trailer.   O0

I should try out for them as a wide receiver. One season with the minimum salary and I think I could pay off my son's college before he starts!

I saw a headline on ESPN "Bucs sign Murray to replace erratic kicker Folk" and was surprised.

Not that Tampa was replacing their kicker yet again but that Eddie Murray was still in playing shape. Sadly it was actually some guy named Patrick Murray.

Note that we have teams on bye week starting this week (WAY too early)- in this case ATL, NO, WAS, and DEN

Well, that sucked. Note to self: Stop picking Cleveland to finally get off the schnide.

Side note, the talk all offseason was how New York was going to be tanking their season. It seems we all assumed the wrong New York team... the Giants were rotten before everyone died, and the Jets are maybe not a playoff team but certainly are fighting like hell every week. Maybe they knew something about guys like Mangold, Revis and Marshall that we didn't?

I'm wondering how Eli is going to survive going against the Denver and Seattle defenses sans a working OL, effective backs or any healthy NFL-caliber starting WRs. I'm thinking Von Miller should get half a dozen sacks.

Wait.

I forgot that it was Denver they had next. Oh, man, that's not even funny. (Remember too that the Broncos are coming off their bye week, so they're rested as well)

Poor Eli, indeed.

Your vote of confidence is appreciated, but I'm feeling a lot more nervous about that Steelers game.  Last year the Steelers coming off an embarrassing regular-season shellacking shut the Chiefs down hard.

That was one of those picks that comes down to not really feeling confident either way, so go with the home team. (I had the same problem with Eagles/Panthers)

Breaking: Saints find a way to trade the husk of Adrian Peterson to Arizona for a conditional draft pick, which I presume will take the form of a signed Larry Fitzgerald football and a couple of fun-size Milky Ways.

That game will fall on one side or the other of like three different axes and the team that gets 2/3 is going to win.

1) Big Ben throws 3-5 interceptions versus Big Ben throws zero interceptions
2) LeVeon Bell runs for 250 yards and 4 TDs, or less than 80 yards.
3) Kareem Hunt sets the record for single game rookie rushing yards, or he only gets his hundred.

As bad as that dumpster fire is, it's actually an improvement over last week!

A couple fun facts:

-- NFL road teams have won more times (46-44) than home teams through Week 6 for the first time since 2000.

-- On Sunday, teams went 8-2 when facing an opponent who was higher in the standings.

-- 25 of the 32 NFL teams are either leading their division or within one game in the loss column of the division leader.

Week 7! (If the pick-em is annoying, let me know and I'll knock it off, but I've been enjoying my Jeff Fisher-esque failure each week, I hope others are too!)

Also, looks like a good week for road teams... though I'm sure I'll call half of them wrong.
