Another reason why TRO 3055 was such a favorite for me.  Always worked well as a generalist, stick it in any lance type machine.  Not a true bodyguard but adds firepower at all ranges, IDF if you need it, pairs up well with just about any 5/8 medium/heavy lance, and mine always felt overlooked in games.  They never seemed to be a priority target(which cuts both ways as it means the oppo never saw them as a threat) and could usually come close to emptying the LRM bins.

The only reasons I am not particularly fond of this design is it never had a mainstream C3i version and it isn't in something available to the FWL because it reeks of the generalist design that the League would adopt.

Rather like the Reaper, works well in one of my merc units.

BUT it does have several versions with regular C3..  So it still has that generalist team player concept.

Yes. But the design appears in ComStar and WoB organizations, so an IMPROVED c3 variant should make sense.

Not all ComStar/WoB forces used C3i systems. Plenty went without.
The C3 variants are exports for mercenaries and used by the Word of Blake Protectorate Militia which is organized along standard Spheroid lines rather than the ComStar/WoB base-6.

As for why the 'Mech never got a C3i variant, i figure that this boils down to it being "filler". In-universe, it may not have made sense to integrate relatively expensive C3i system into it (going by C-bills, so sorry, 750k vs 250k of C3 slave). IRL, it may be TPTB deemed the design too lowly for C3i or just forgot it.

Seeing how the original TRO 3055 said ComStar was sharing it with the Combine, I always just assumed the C3 versions were Kurita variants.

Doesn't seem to be the case per MUL right now. 3055U does not make mention of the Combine. Might be worth asking MUL team about it, off-hand older fluff is technically valid except where contradicted.

EDIT oddly enough, the baseline Grim Reaper is available to the Combine. Go figure.

Huh, I would expect it to be the C3 model like they did with the Tessen.

So, what would you Drop then to GET that C3I?

It seems the C3 Greepers are all meant for sale to mercenaries, or for standard-C3 formations within the Protectorate Militia, not for use within the WoBM proper.

So, what would you Drop then to GET that C3I?

Something in the Fan Designs forum. C:-)

LRM-20 -> LRM-15 + C3i is applicable to any number of units without invoking a fan design banishment, I hope
