Nice. We had a company on company game on Drop Port this weekend. It ended up being an intense brawl. They always seem to be on that map. There's just so much room. Long range heavy units tend to own those games, although this one ended in 2 big pile ups-on either side of the main facility.

Oh, and by the way, the window on the last big print run has closed and all maps are in production now. If anyone is interested in getting in on the next run, I will post again here in this thread with details once they are sorted out.

I just got all of the recent orders from this run back from the printer. I'm getting them ready to ship this weekend (hopefully!). Based on how demanding my new job that I start Monday is, I may or may not have them all shipped before next weekend.

The quality... is unbelievable. They're gorgeous. Can't wait till some of you folks get them on your tables!

I can't tell from the pictures, but what are the levels of the mountains typically?  Do they go up to level 10? or do they stick within 3 or 4 range?  Same question for water.

Do you have any of the high quality ones left over?

Thanks.

Higher elevations do reach the lvl 10 range on some maps. The water only gets to depth 3 on the archipelago map. Otherwise, lvl 1 to 2 depth is the norm.

Currently, there are no high quality maps left, but I'm working on a new pricing structure for these with my new printer. I'll update this thread ASAP with the new prices.

The maps look phenomenal.  Do you have any new designs in the works?  I am really eyeing the rough hills map.

I seem to remember mention of an urban ruins type map in the works, and I'm hoping that relates to some messages we exchanged regarding the derelict Packard facility in Detroit last year. The photos of that factory campus made me think "abandoned planet" as soon as I saw them.

4X4 Urban Ruins
4X6 Research Center
4X8 Alpine Valley
4X8 Farm Lands

These are the possible future maps. For right now, I'm too busy getting the last round of maps out the door and establishing a reliable printer for small orders to do any work on these. The dreary part of the winter will get here soon enough though, and then I'll be staring at Photoshop for hours on end again.

I remember you bringing those images to my attention in a thread a long time ago. Unfortunately, the images were not high enough resolution, so they will not be a part of the future Urban Ruins map.

Bummer, but I'm glad you found something cool to use for new maps even if those weren't useful. Keep up the good work!

So, some news for you that missed out on the high quality print run:

You can still get the high-res prints. The prices for those are now $80 and $100 respectively, for the 4x6' and 4x8' maps. These will come on a brand new material: Polypropylene Poster Paper. Don't let the name fool you. This stuff is just as tough as the banner, if not stronger. Banner material has a scrim weave to it. Tearing it is not unlike tearing plastic cloth. The polypropylene is similar, but the weave is almost microscopic. It's like trying to tear a raincoat, and just like the banner, it's waterproof.

Here's the best part: It can be printed double sided! The prices for double sided prints will be $120 for 4x6' maps, and $150 for 4x8's.

For all of the above mentioned map prices, get $10 off per print for orders of 2 or more units. As usual, shipping is free within the continental US.

Awesome! Looks like you guys made almost full use of the map. I noticed somebody was using the little 'pockets' of the big, red building. I find myself in that situation from time to time as well. Good use of the hex pack bridge too. What were the field markers for?

Oh, and nice paint jobs, btw.

This was a session of our Solaris Melee Challenge campaign, so the numbered hexagons are entry/exit points.

Hey folks, I have 4 overstocked/slightly used maps to get rid of. I call it The Barrens Collection:

Wastelands (Hi-res,)
Volcanic Fields (Hi-res)
Secret Base (Low-res)
Mountain Facility (Low-res)

Get the whole bundle for $180! You will not see these get any cheaper! This is 2 of the brand new, hi-res, 4'x8' maps along with 2 of the older, low res, 4'x6' maps on sturdy, scrim vinyl. First come, first serve! PM me if you're interested. I will consider breaking the bundle up if you so desire.

UPDATE: Someone has taken me up on the offer so this is no longer available. Sorry! Next time!

A few things to look forward to this year:

  • A brand new series of 3x3 and 4x4 maps made from the existing stock.
A new 4x4 map - Urban Ruins (work in progress as we speak)

Later this year, I'll finish work on an Alpine Valley map (size as yet TBD), as well as Farm Lands, and Research Facility.

Looking forward to your feedback.

Not much cover to be had on that map eh? Looked like a brutal game.

Not related to the maps but I might have to borrow your idea on using "prone" counters. This makes facing heaps clearer and avoids unnecessary damage to models.
PM me if you live in Perth Western Australia and are after a game. Please!

There are actually some large mounds here and there; the Clan Wolf forces used one for cover as they advanced, and another screened them from the Steiner right flank. Steiner's left flank sat behind partial cover most of the game.

About as expected. Wolf had a 30% BV advantage, Steiner had a 100% tonnage advantage. The Steiner fast units spent time maneuvering and not shooting, during which time Wolf held their own against the Steiner slow units. But, the Wolf units couldn't take as many hits due to being mostly lights and mediums, and I suffered some bad shot clustering legging two of my Wolf mechs. However, Steiner had two mechs missing legs and arms, a couple dead mechs, and most of the rest were in bad shape. I think Steiner would have pulled it out had we played another hour, but the Steiner players had to take off.

I've played in "Capitol City" and "Highway".  Great fun and fantastic mix of terrain and obstacles.  I've actually heard a wistful desire to fight at "Gettysburg".  Is that possible?
