Ground Combat / Re: Clan Large Pulse Lasers

Seems the GM should just not tell you what the senerio is going to be ahead of time hence encouraging eveyone to go back to balanced forces

He'll lay out the scenario but we roll to determine who plays what side of said-scenario. Depending on the dice roll, we may be defending a city or we may be attacking.

I actually didn't mind the two waves. I got one load, and had stuff to work on while waiting for the second load to arrive. It did annoy a friend who'd elected to wait & get it all at once (in the 2nd shipment), watching me enjoy my stuff :)

But this time I'm totally happy to get everything at the same time.

I feel exactly the same.  After the first wave, I was able to paint up a few things and get my mind around all the new stuff in the second wave.  Truth is I still have like 50-60 mechs to paint from the Clan KS.  Now my pile of shame will grow.

BattleTech Miniatures / Re: Naval Aviation Themed Marauder

This world could always use more Marauder.  Looks sharp, and I think worktroll's suggestions are sound.  Especially if this isn't a ComStar or WoB unit insignia planned for the future, warning lines would give just the tiniest splash of color that would help the white pop.

Good job!

I hope not 2 waves....I was in the 3rd wave of a 2 wave product.

Saturn has icy moons with subterranean lakes/oceans of water.  The danger from Cassini was its nuclear power source and any Earth microbes/spores that hitched a ride.  If Cassini crashed in the wrong place, we’d be transplanting Earth life with its very own heat source into a watery environment.  Unlikely but couldn’t be ruled out over thousands of years if we lost control of Cassini.  Better to end the mission on out terms.

Four.  It was a FedSuns w/ mercenary support vs Combine scenario loosely based on Dominions Divided.

Party Robot.

Reminded me of certain battlesuits:

Quote
Here’s where we admit that Party Robot is not truly a robot.

He is a robot costume worn by a human. A human on stilts. Inside Party Robot, at the wedding in Long Island City, is a human named Ronald Arevalo.

Arevalo, 26, used to work in construction. Because he specialized in applying plaster, he became very good at walking in drywall stilts. He is also — and this is key — a good dancer. These two separate skills, it turns out, make him uniquely suited to excel in a second career as Party Robot.

“In the very beginning, the hardest part was just being able to be a robot for 45 minutes to an hour and not, like, cramp,” says Party Robot performer Shawn Vandine, owner of Big City Events outside Philadelphia. Drinking Pedialyte helps prevent muscle spasms, he adds.

Party Robot sometimes falls, which sometimes hurts the human inside. Most companies require a robot handler — an assistant-slash-bodyguard — to help the human get dressed as Party Robot, and avoid hazards such as a spilled drink or a flower girl pitter-pattering across the dance floor.

O’Brian, who used to be a competitive cheerleader, toppled over at an event once. “A chicken wing,” she says.

But the biggest hazard is easy to spot: drunk people. Drunk people love Party Robot. Sometimes, they try to push Party Robot, or fight it, like it’s been sent from the future on a mission to assassinate the groom.

And then there are the gropers.

“A lot of people just come up” to the robots, Zerla says, “and they start, like, feeling their butt.”

Arevalo’s handler is his sister, Brenda Lopez, 27. At each event she straps his feet and calves into the bottom of the stilts, and connects the wiring to the battery pack strapped to his waist. The legs actually creak like a door hinge, but no one at a party will ever hear that over the thumping bass.

Sean blasted his guests with the carbon dioxide gun, which filled the air with cold fog. The bride and groom’s slices of cake remained uneaten at their sweetheart table, because they still haven’t left the dance floor, and neither has Party Robot. Arevalo’s calves ached. In five minutes, he would cram his massive robot body into an elevator, head downstairs, become human again, and massage his legs.

But for now, he knew what he had to do, because the DJ was telling him.

“Get one more fist pump in with the robot!”

Last time product was shipped in 2 distinct waves, which turned out to be the second biggest mistake Catalyst made with the Kickstarter. This time everything is being shipped at the same time. Depending on how much stuff you have coming it might be broken up into multiple boxes.

The second wave wasn't the problem last time.  CGL giving a due date that was earlier than what it should of is the problem.   Ironicly if they had given the due date based on the packs and rules on how long it would take with the extra packs open it started delivering more or less on time.  But CGL has a habit of unforced errors.   I am happy they didn't do that with delivery time this kickstarter.
