oh nice, how did you make it ?

Photoshopped a screengrab from the Tamar Rising PDF.

On a Hotspots: Hinterlands note -- the book confirmed every one of my 'unknowns' re: Sudeten production. Anyone catch any word of Falcon mobile factories in IlKhan's Eyes Only? I didn't see anything on a quick first pass ...

Isn't the Grand Summoner also being built on Sudeten?

It was originally produced on Erewhon.

HS: Hinterlands doesn't list the Horse's production sites, but it is not included amongst the mobile factories moved to Alyina. So it is possible the Grand Summoner and Shrike factory/factories were moved to currently independent worlds, the Horses took control of it, or it'll be dropped in else somewhere later.

And Bren, that list is very useful! It might be worth listing previously produced models, like the Summoner on Sudeten, as HS:Hinterlands only says main production, so they could be making them in limited quantities. Or just as a record or when they were discontinued. (I am assuming you also made that chart lol).

And no mention of mobile factories being brought along by the Falcons that I could see. Assuming none were destroyed there are at least three out there, one of which produces or produced Kit Foxes and, to hazard a guess, I would say the other two made aerospace fighters since there is nowhere else listed that makes them (and a Clan cannot survive on Scythas and Perseopolis' alone).

It was originally produced on Erewhon.

Eagle Craft Group doesn't have any terrestrial factories, the Technical Readout just listed Erewhon because it had to list a planet (Eagle Craft Group nominally being based out of that system). How they operate doesn't really fit the TRO template.

Their production is done in orbit using their (now unaccounted for) mobile factories.

They're not orbital tho. Tamar Rising also calls Factory Zone 4 a sprawl around the capital of Alyina. The Grand Summoner TRO mentions one is mounted outside the factory gates, the Jupiter TRO says the factory was built on Erewhon, and Objectives: Clans says Factory Zone 4 is located at Croix on Erewhon (and notes the terrain and climate).

Factory Zone 4 is a separate entity from Eagle Craft Group and their orbital factories. See the separate entry in 'Objectives: The Clans' and a more detailed writeup in 'Masters and Minions' (p.131).

Good point about the first Grand Summoner gate guardian, I assume the author didn't have the situation quite straight when they wrote it. My re-write of that situation would be that the first Grand Summoner--produced in orbit above Erewhon--was placed at the headquarters of Eagle Craft Group planetside.

I think my confusion is because FZ4 moves from Erewhon to Alyina at some point but isn't a mobile factory (maybe), while the Grand Summoner is produced by ECG but is very much indicated to be terrestrial so I conflated the two.

Made me look up everything again in order of publication:

M&M (2009): Introduces EGC, stating they are made up of a bunch of mobile factories. Refers to them as initially being built and run "on" Ironhold. Not particularly conclusive since it's only a short section.

Objectives (2013): Places FZ4 on Erewhon. Also says ECG is in orbit around Erwwhon, but in the blurb under that says EGC is "Nominally based out of Erewhon, Eagle Craft Group is actually made up of a series of mobile facilities spread across the Occupation Zone." FZ5 was also on Erewhon but is destroyed / inoprative

Implies the factories are orbital, but could also mean that just the ECG head office is orbital.

TRO3145: Clans (8/2013): The Summoner entry states  "The first Thor II to roll off the factory line on Erewhon, this ’Mech stands on a dais at the factory complex gate." And says it is produced by ECG. So heavily indicates at least some ECG factories are terrestrial.

Tamar Rising: FZ4 has now on Alyina, and is again definitely terrestrial. FZ5 is now on Blackjack. Are these the same ones or were the Erewhon complexes shut down and the identifications reused? Or Factory Zone 4 is a local designation so there are two.

I couldn't find any reference to Erewhon in the Hell's Horses novels.

So the first entry, to me, implies the factories are terrestrial, but the second is very clear in stating ECG is at least in some capacity, orbitally based. But then the Summoner II blurb says terrestrial again. And the moving of the very terrestrial FZ4 just confuses things (or at least me).

I'm starting to suspect FZ4 & 5 got moved because either someone thought the Alyina Mercantile League sounds better than the Erewhon Mercantile League, the map worked better that way, they made the same mistake I had, or it's just a straight up retcon lol.

As for ECG, if I had to reconcile this (without retcons) I would say there is a mix of orbital and terrestrial factories, with their HQ being an orbital one that is/was around Erewhon. Or the mobile factories have two components - an orbital part to make Endo and such, while final assembly is done on the ground. FZ4 is a second generation mobile factory - bigger and faster but less mobile, so it is its own thing but explains the movability.

Ok, now that IKEO is out for a minute, do we have any more info about what is going on with the Terran Falcons?

Factory Zone 4, terrestrial factory (and separate from ECG) was moved to Alynia due to damage suffered during the Jihad.
Factory Zone 5, terrestrial factory (and separate from ECG) was moved to Blackjack due to damage suffered during the Jihad.

I know I've read this in an earlier source but the most recent reference is in Hot Spots: Hinterlands.

No retcons required, just a slight re-wording of the Grand Summoner TRO section.

Not sure? We've seen art with them in both old Delta colors and old Lambda colors, and as far as I can recall, no text clarifying either way.

It's actually about how Tara is captured by the Capellans and rescued by the 2nd Long Road Legion who adopt her into the Raven Alliance.

I don't recall where - I'm thinking it was around the release of the BT Legends volume 1 - that it was mentioned somewhere that often for character art they'll take stock photos and do some work to give them a BT gloss. I might be misremembering, though, but I think that's not entirely uncommon in the production art world. And that's leaving aside any of the contemporary gen-AI nonsense.

Snow Ravens: "Welcome to another faction!"
Tara Campbell: "...great."

At least changing one bird for another isn't a big change?

I hope she gets a break soon though, whether that's going back to Northwind or reclaiming her name in CJF, etc.

(This is a joke)

Wrong Tara: you’re thinking of Tara Bishop. Her supposed death was a plan by the Ghost Knights and her ‘rebirth’ was halted by the Capellan invasions. She’s been a POW for a decade before being rescued by the Ravens.

(Also clearly a joke)

IKEO gives small blurbs about the Terran Falcons but not a LOT. The Sea Foxes and Ravens get more screen time honestly.

My biggest gripe about them is the fact that the Wolves give almost their entire naval fleet away to everyone but them. They keep a SINGLE warship, while the Ravens and Wolves get the rest. Kinda a real insult if you ask me.

I disagree. It makes far more sense to give those ships away to factions that actually have the manpower to use them than to let them sit fallow for however many years it would've taken the Falcons to get the necessary manpower.

Stephanie's Falcons were given jurisdiction over Caph as of IKEO right? So maybe that becomes their capital. Though it really does run counter to the idea of Alaric keeping them as a small bodyguard under direct supervision.

I can see the Falcons keeping a garrison on that world(and only that one), with the remainder sitting at Alaric's feet or doing whatever else he wants, and units swapping places every X period of time.

In the short term, that keeps the Falcons too busy securing and developing the planet to really plot against him, puts a skilled but semi-disposable Clan(ie, not Wolves) in a position to respond to any aggression along the Combine front, part of the Confederation front, and any rumblings from independent Northwind, and gives the Falcons a home base without him having to share Terra with another Clan. Honestly, I kinda expect him to do something similar with the Jaguars when they're strong enough and if the Confed front is still hot, my money's on Liberty.

In the long term, making that world a Clan capital provides a strong impetus to upgrade the world's factories and infrastructure to Clan levels, but without Wolf resources.
