So an Annihilator walks in to a bar
« on: 09 June 2016, 16:48:57 »
Felt like modeling again, so I started working on this bad boy. This is still very much a work in progress and pretty early in the making, but I'm liking where it's going.  8)

Based on original sketches by Tabnir.

Ditch the banana clips. They look really out of place.

This is the first rendition of the Annihilator I really like! Well done.  O0
I have to agree though: it would look even better without the 'magazines'.

A little bit more progress. Decided to do an actual render this time to show the model a little better. Still ways to go before it's done.  8)

It's a little fuzzy here and there with some errors in the render, but it's good enough for quickie.

Looks really good the head reminds me of a Jaffa helmet from Stargate

On a side note when I saw the thread title I was expecting a busted up bar...

So an annihilator, an atlas, and a banshee walk into a bar... The bar was destroyed.  :))

Looks great!

Leave off the Dragoon logos and change the name and I think you'll be okay, legally. Your design is as different from the original as the "classics" are from the Unseen.

I'd also buy a few.

Official hat on:
We don't restrict anyone's rights to produce original miniatures. We do, strongly, object to anyone posting here links to selling things based on BattleTech IP - including but not limited to names, connotations, "wink wink" behaviour - without permission.

Update tiem! As it is, there's about 530k quads in the base model, in case anyone is interested. Subdivide it a couple of times and it's a fair bit more...

Model is getting closer to completion, but still very much incomplete. I got a bit distracted by the nice summer weather so this is taking much longer than I anticipated. Here's my take on the Zeta battalion color scheme. Black is such a boring color so I went with a bit more grayish tone.[drool]
