With the events of the Jihad enfolding across the Inner Sphere, the planetary government of Corydon raised a mixed battalion of it's militia as a standing garrison.  Taking the best troops from the existing militia gave it a small core of highly skilled conventional troops, however, the BattleMech company is rather lacking in skill.  The commanding officer is a Davion Guard Major breveted native to the world and detached to the local government.  The intention is to have the unit as the cadre for a possible combined arms regiment.  Primary deficiencies include a lack of air and artillery support.  In order for any expansion to occur, the current commander has listed a request for either atmospheric fighters, aerospace fighters, or artillery to be provided at a minimum for a regiment.  At present, it is only a battalion because of turf wars within the planetary defense ministry and a desire to have the best possible troops in the planetary "standing army."

1st Corydon Militia Mobile Battalion
Headquarters and Headquarters Company
The Headquarters and Headquarters Company is far larger than needed for a battalion, and is the planned headquarters  for an entire regiment.  The Leftenant Colonel does not believe himself capable of leading an entire regiment in battle, but there are no other suitable candidates that are acceptable to all civilian government parties at present.
Command Lance Heavy 'Mech Lance/Veteran/Reliable
Commanded by Lft. Col.(Brevet) Thompson personally, this unit contains the only Assault and heavy 'Mechs currently deployed, as all others are "private property not available for immediate duty."  It primarily serves as either a spearhead or reserve for battle situations.  It also has the only upgraded 'Mechs, a VTR-9D Victor and a CTF-3D Cataphract.  The rest of the lance is a Catapult and an Enforcer
MP Platoon Platoon/Veteran/Reliable
Lft. Zimmerman's platoon of highly skilled Military Police, although any of the two infantry companies would also be able to fulfill this function.  There battlefield role would be that of motorized MG infantry.  The Leftenant is an attorney in civilian life, giving the unit excellent legal knowledge.
HQ Troops 2 Platoons/Veteran(Green)/Reliable
Command Sergeant Major Leach leads nearly 60 skilled soldiers in support fields from pay, administration, training, medical, supply, and transport, this organization has four heavy trucks, and would be deployed in dire emergancies as semiskilled foot infantry with standard assault rifles.

Alpha Company(BattleMechs)
Company/Regular/Reliable
12 Medium and Light Mechs, none heavier than an aging Griffin and Dervish.  Features quite a number of LRM equipped 'Mechs.  The unit is maintained in a high state of material readiness, including access to many specialty munitions.  Most special munitions mentioned in Total Warfare are available to these 'Mechs.
Command Lance
Capt. C. L. T. Smith ably leads the company from his family's aging DV-6M Dervish.  The unit is primarily configured to support the other lances with LRM fire, however, the mobility this lance has means it often finds itself in the midst of action, plugging holes, at least in simulated combat.  He leads a Griffin, and a pair of battered Valkyries
Battle Lance
Four slow, aging, light and medium 'Mechs of Lft. Allison are set up as a fighting force on the line along side the armored company.  Her BJ-2 Blackjack leads a CNT-9A Centurion, a VND-1R Vindicator, and a PNT-9R Panther.
Scout Lance
Scouts mostly by equipment, Lft. Marris has his Phoenix Hawk-1D, a VLT-2T Vulcan, a WSP-1A Wasp, and a STG-3R Stinger for screening duties.

Bravo Company(Armor)
Company/Veteran/Reliable
Line Platoon
Capt. Caerras has four Vedette Medium tanks, rebuilt to the latest standard, providing much of the punch needed for direct fire missions.
Hussar Platoon
Lft. Reynolds commands from a Condor, a Pegasus, Schimitar, and a Saracen, serving to screen the rest of the unit, in addition to Lft. Marris's 'Mech Scout Lance.
Support Platoon
Lft. Humes has four Striker wheeled tanks to provide missile support.  All are older models.

Charlie Company
Mechanized Infantry Company/Veteran/Reliable
At four platoons of infantry and ten AFVs, this unit is larger than expected.  Line platoons are treated as Machine Gun infantry.  Armor crews are treated as Regulars, and the vehicles are not upgraded.
1st Line Platoon
Maj. Krofter, the Battalion XO, leads four Goblin Medium tanks and a platoon of infantry.
2nd Line Platoon
Lft. Beschloss has a Maxim and a platoon of infantry.
3rd Line Platoon
Lft. Znamierowski ("Lft. Z") leads four tracked APC's and an infantry platoon.
Weapons Platoon
Lft. Slater has the units other Maxim, and a platoon of SRM armed infantry

Delta Company
Motorized Infantry Company/Veteran/Reliable
Similar to Charlie in that it has three platoons of Machine Gun infantry, Delta differs by having a pair of Scorpion Light Tanks as fire support.  Delta Company also has several secondary functions.  In case of an actual invasion, it is unlikely they will serve as actual infantry.  However, they would serve as the primary group for "Hearts and Minds" missions if required.
1st Line Platoon
Capt. Andrews leads this unit, which is also trained as commandos, and ready to serve as a cadre for any possible "stay-behind" organization
2nd Line Platoon
Lft. Baum's platoon is also capable Combat Engineers.  The would serve to defend any operating base the battalion set up.
3rd Line Platoon
Lft. Samlon leads a mountain platoon, also with a secondary cadre purpose
Weapons Platoon
Sgt. Garcia's two old Scorpions rarely leave prepared areas, and are not expected to even go under fire.

I know it's almost two full battalions, but one company is mostly administrative personnel, and another exists for TO&E reasons.  In theory, the officers and NCO's in the conventional unit would be ready to lead units above them, but material issues and politics have played an issue in not expanding the unit.
