Now the TPTB just needs to use geometric mean for the BV calc and hot 'mechs can then be better represented BV-wise :D
Honestly, there's a very easy way to do that. Not to discount what you did (it's still a great mod).: Reduce the flat 6 added to the base heat dispersal during the heat calculations to a 2 (accounting for running/walking only)
and reduce the first weapon to cross this threshold by 50% (not just the next weapon after it). Any unit that goes over +0 while firing its primary weapons and running will have
all the secondary weapons discounted.
I'll put three 'Mechs here as examples; three heat hogs, one with bracket firing, and one heat-neutral for comparison: PXH-1, CTS-6X, AWS-8Q, THG-11E
PXH-1 (6 + 10 SHS): 1,041
PXH-1 (2 + 10 SHS): 997 (-4.2%)
CTS-6X (6 + 14 SHS): 1,424
CTS-6X (2 + 14 SHS): 1,326 (-6.9%)
WHM-6R (6 + 18 SHS): 1,299
WHM-6R (2 + 18 SHS): 1,201 (-7.5%)
AWS-8Q (6 + 28 SHS): 1,605
AWS-8Q (2 + 28 SHS): 1,517 (-5.4%)
THG-11E (6 + 18 DHS): 1,640
THG-11E (2 + 18 DHS): 1,640 (+/- 0%)
Combat:
4 x THG-11E with 4/5 pilots (canon): 6,560
vs.
5 x WHM-6R with 4/5 pilots (canon): 6,495
- or -
2 x WHM-6R with 3/5 pilots (proposed): 2,882
3 x WHM-6R with 4/5 pilots (proposed): 3,603
Total: 6,485
