Hi!
I'm just asking for a clarification with regards to the Cost Modifiers, and how they affect Spare Parts.
Rules for Spare Parts: Page 24
Table with Cost Multiplier: Page 14

In particular i think it's a bit unclear if those modifiers affect only the single mech/vehicle/item, or everything in the "Merc Unit".

A couple of examples:

Example 1: Lets say you have a company of 12-mechs.
a) 1 of those 12 contains a Light fusion Engine or a XL fusion engine.
b) All 12 of those contains a Light fusion Engine or a XL fusion engine.

Do a and b have the same Spare Parts cost ? (Which sounds a bit weird, but the wording in the table is "any unit", so it's abit ambiguous.

Example 2: Lets say you have a company of 12-vehicles
a) 1 of those 12 contains a fusion Engine
b) All 12 of those contains a fusion Engine

Do a and b have the same Spare Parts cost ? (Which sounds a bit weird, but the wording in the table is "any unit", so it's abit ambiguous.

Same goes for the other entries in the table, if you have a single Clan PPC in your company in 3050, does your total maintenance cost for your mercenary company suddenly become 5x as expensive ?

The author of this ruleset has said:

I'm inclined to say, "If you have one fancy vehicle in a force, then you count the spare parts for it individually. It doesn't affect the entire force."

Or to put it another way:

The XL engine on a Clan 'Mech doesn't make the spare parts of the rest of the lance more expensive. You just have to account for the Clan 'Mech separately on the TO&E.
