Great job! Loved playing the Centauri back in the day.Rhe Dilgar were going to be my second faction when WB killed Babylon 5 Wars and fleet action.

I wish I could find those locally; always loved B5, but the minis were never very widespread where I lived.

Wait, are the numbers printed on the bases the ship's defense ratings?

That's GENIUS!

Wait, are the numbers printed on the bases the ship's defense ratings?
Bingo. The few games I've been able to play, the most annoying part of fire calculation was interrupting the other guy trying to work out his numbers by asking him his defense ratings, and being interrupted in return. So I printed out a spreadsheet full of defense ratings, cut up the cells, and glued them to the bases.  Defensive EW and jinking is marked by a die placed next to the mini, just like movement dice in Battletech. Boom, all the info you need to calculate your to-hit numbers is clearly visible to you.

(For those who've never played, the base to-hit number in Babylon 5 Wars isn't based on your gunnery skill, but is the target's Defense Rating, a number that represents the ship's silhouette and sometimes certain passive defenses. The bigger the ship's cross section in that direction, the higher the number, the easier that ship is to hit. Every ship and fighter class has its own defense ratings unique to it.)

how big are those mini's? eventually i would like to do some B5 stuff to go with my Full Thrust Trek ships, been trying to decide whether to go with the B5wars or the A Call to Arms scale minis from AoG.. (my trek stuff is mostly Starline2400 stuff)

B5Wars is AoG. It and A Call to Arms stuff are identical. Exact same minis, different brand name and game system. It's kinda like asking about the size of a Battletech Mad Cat because you're not sure if you'd prefer that or an Alpha Strike Mad Cat. Yes, I'm aware just how little poking that metaphor will stand up to. You get my gist.

An Omega is just over 11cm long, and a Narn G'Quan is 98mm long.

If those are too big for your tastes, AoG does sell a smaller line, their Fleet Action-scale stuff. Usually about half the length of the full scale ships, sometimes smaller.

i know bot are. but i was led to believe the B5Wars figures were a smaller "fleet scale"

Not really, no.

B5Wars is the game system. Minis were made for it, which are the big ships. After i don't know how many years, AoG released a second B5 game system called Fleet Action, which could best be summed up as Battleforce to B5Wars' Battletech. Fleet Action minis were released at the same time. They became very popular for both games due to their lower cost per ship, but never replaced what became known as Full Scale.

When Mongoose took over B5 gaming and released A Call to Arms, they stuck with Full Scale, and Fleet Action was abandoned entirely, though both lines are still available.

The Fleet action ships also fit on the hex grid much more easily, but yeah. Full scale was way prettier. Especially for the poor Primus BC. It's fleet scale sculpt was a travesty.  :'(

Didn't Mongoose redesign the look and feel of the Dilgar for some reason? I swear somebody did.

Not Mongoose,  but yeah. Some kind of PC game, i think. Or maybe an RPG?

Mongoose added a couple new sculpts(not the Leskrati sadly, but their Garasoch is awesome), but largely kept the old ones, even if they renamed a few.

A fellow B5wars player!  Those are some nice schemes, Weirdo. Sadly, I gave up my B5wars minis, but I had a nice Dilgar and Minbari fleet back in the day. I helped demo GROPOS/B5wars at Origins in 2001 and GenCon in 2001 as part of AOG's demo team.  Fun times. I was a fan of the Gaim, since they were a kitbasher's dream.

This make me want to break out minis.  I still have a few centari ships to paint and fleet box of he mimbari to assemble and paint. I only got to play it once but I really liked the game.

I recently(ish) bought some Mimbari from Agent One to use in Firestorm Armada, well that tanked when the game did.

All of the miniatures are still available.

I started a Earthforce Fleet in both Fleet and the larger scale. Long ago lost the full size ships but I still have the Fleet Scale ships. A few years back I did get some 3D printed large ships that were close but not exactly right in scale. Easier to build though.

Love the Centauri Ships. I never could do detail that well on those.
