Nope. There are some 600 different 'Mechs, current fan article directory has some 350, especially when you count few that are missed from the list.

How about the Lancelot?  I was looking to see if there was an article on that last night and I couldn't find one.

I fell out of favour with heaven somewhere, so I'm here for the hell of it now...

Good call! I'll second that; the Lancelot is another that doesn't get much attention

An article was done not that long ago, some time last year. But one can never say too much about the Thor  ;)

I can try to write something up this weekend. I was doing some research for the Trojan (shameless plug: go check it out  :D ), I can do a MotW for the Spartan, which has definitely not seen any recent posts

You were about five years off. ;)

It's still about as comprehensive a write-up as you'll ever see, and a not small contributor to why I don't do articles much anymore (that and the Banshee).

You know, it occurs to me that it would be really useful if we could get a pinned thread with links to past MotW articles.

Of course, tracking all of them down would be a pretty large undertaking.

Hey everyone, ages ago I volunteered for the Ha Otoko and the Firestarer O. Unfortunately I didn't have the time then and took a break from the forum, and I don't have the time now. I doubt anyone is lining up to get them, but they're free game for anyone who wants them. Thanks!

I could do with being updated, however, and perhaps arranged alphabetically?

Unfortunately, the person who had been maintaining it has passed, which is why it hasn't updated in some time.

That said, the best bet in that thread is to use your browser's 'find' option, look for the name of the unit in question, and filter through the results- and check for the right spelling, of course, because as i learned once doing VotW and finding a tank wasn't on the list... if you spell it wrong, you write an article a second time and upset the original author. (I miss writing articles, I definitely don't miss the beating I took from people in PM over it.)

If anyone has the time and dedication to build a new version of the index, it's not going to be a quick or easy process, but it would have to be the hard way- only the original poster or a moderator can modify the original post, and with the former gone and the latter already overworked as it is the other option is a rebuild- and one that would need to be worked on weekly-ish, so it's a long-term project. If anyone IS interested, know what you're getting yourself into- and contact me so I can make sure it's stickied and all that.

For a second there I thought you meant me, but then I checked and saw it was Moonsword that accidentally covered the same tank I did six months later.

What blight on fun and good times got mad at something like that? ???

Nah, I had it happen with the Schmitt as well. (Part of the reason I stopped doing VotW... there's a lot fewer tanks out there than Mechs, and I was running out of things to cover that hadn't already been done. There's only so much to say about the 3060 flatbed truck, after all.)

I didn't even know that there's a canon roadrunner  :o

Anybody object me posting the Spartan? It would be good to follow up the Lancelot with another SLDF ḿech

It's in the print copy of TRO: 3150.  Mass of 15 tons, moves 14/21.

It also is 1) a blast to use and 2) has a surprisingly great miniature. (Mine is now in charcoal grey and blood red on my shelf)

The miniature is also smaller than some Protomechs.

Which is really not the worst thing- it IS smaller than some of them.  ;D

Nah, seriously, if you've not tried a Roadrunner, it's a hoot. Super-fast, high-risk/high reward stuff, the way Clan tech should be. If it works, you move fast enough no one can take advantage of your Pepsi-can armor, light off basically a pair of IS large lasers into someone's ass, and zip away to do it again in a couple of turns. If you do it wrong (or if you just end up unlucky), you're a grimy smear on the battlefield because of even small-end weaponry (I lost one to a minefield in a Megamek game a while back- both legs destroyed, I like to think the rest of the Mech continued in the air for another few hexes on sheer momentum).

The Clans don't really do zerg-rush stuff (abhorrent!), but even without that as an option it's fun to use them in hit-and-fade attacks, and the bigger the opponent the better. How infuriating must it be for some poor schmuck in a Warhammer IIC to find himself being depantsed by a skilled Roadrunner pilot, unable to strike back despite outsizing his opponent several times over?

I'm in process of moving and it is ****** stressful, so i was thinking i'd write as that is nice way to unwind.

Thinking of the Exterminator, it has interesting flaws and ideas. If i do write, i expect it'll be ready "today" (not my timezone though) or tomorrow.

But. I don't know if readers are reading this thread, but if they are, i will not hear any critique about my writing (factual errors aside). Not here to write professionally, so critique is completely pointless, it will just piss me off and it isn't relevant to others.
