The Toyotapocalypse cometh ...
« on: 28 November 2017, 03:28:35 »
So I saw on eBay 100 Z-scale plastic cars for about $14USD, free shipping ...

It's but the work of a minute to convert a sedan into a Technical-to-be. The cars are 3 pieces - wheel/wheelbase, body, and plastic insert forming the "glass". So
- snip or cut off the back bodyshell,
- snip the 'glass' in half, and
voila!

Small issue - these are good scale, but look a little small next to BT minis, or the DA infantry/BA I use (sorry, not good pic)

So I'll be picking up some N-scale cars, for my Marik Liberation Unit! O0

Periphery...anywhere would work. Use them with the rules for mechinf to represent peasants that are revolting and rebelling against their local lords! :)

Z-scale does look small. But, next time, when you have a chance, look at people around a lot of newer, especially non-American, cars.

However, they do look small compared to the Rotunda.

Still, nice score.

So, I take it, whatever world is graced with these, it does things in tight-fitting compact? Compared to places you've decked with N scale stuff that likes everything supersized.

VERY nice! I'm going to have to keep an eye out for a haul like that!

You can usually find them on Amazon for a reasonable price. I've got a couple bags of them. Some for scenery, some for rotundas, and some for car bombs. It's like playing the lottery, except there's explosions.
Good news is the lab boys say the symptoms of asbestos poisoning show an immediate latency of 44.6 years. So if you're thirty or over you're laughing. Worst case scenario you miss out on a few rounds of canasta, plus you've forwarded the cause of science by three centuries. I punch those numbers into my calculator, it makes a happy face.

Finally, a way to make exercises in statistics interesting! I can think of a few college semesters that needed livening up in this way...
