What happened to the 4th Ghost Regiment

Hi, 

What happened to the 4th Ghost Regiment?

Wo39 had them taking massive damage but surviving.

They existed in 3050 per 20 Year Update.

They are not included in FM:DC

Sarna has them as Disbanded but no other information on when, why, how.

Thanks for any info you can give.

They were disbanded after the War of 3039, in 3040. The 20 Year Update was in error.

Was this actually stated somewhere in source fiction?   If so what source for reference?

It had been an internal thing for years with no where to really state the information. The War of 3039 all but shows it, and it winds up as a footnote in Combat Manual: Kurita, which covers ground from the third Succession War to the Clan Invasion.
