Overview:
After the formation of the Raven Alliance, Merlin production was suspended. However, to gain more use of the design, the Merchant Caste licensed the plans to the Brotherhood of Randis.

Capabilities:
Starting with the Merlin-1B, the Brothers of Randis removed the Flamer, LRM, and two heat sinks to make room for an MML-5 and two tons of ammunition. This simplifies construction as they can re-use weapons intended for the HawkWolf and Warhammer lines, but does make the Merlin more vulnerable to infantry forces.

They also reduced the armor by half a ton to add CASE to the missile ammunition bay.

It's a simple change.  You could just use inferno rounds for the ton of srm ammo, right?
