Revenants of the Star League Art thread
« on: 17 May 2023, 11:47:24 »
Cannonshop asked me to start sharing more of the art I have been collecting for our shared fanfiction stories and I had been thinking of doing a character/art guide thread anyway so I figured I would put it here since this is going to be so art heavy.

All art has been generated by nemu's waifu bot(AI generated).  As I understand the legalities we should be fine now that disclaimer has been made.

Larry Nichols leads us off because I think the AI art bot nailed him first try and Cannonshop agrees.

Lori Crowe.  The AI bot does not like doing dark skin tones but after some fiddling I think I got something decent out of it.

And to finish off the first post(want to limit to three images at a time so it is not so overwhelming) we have Tabarinth's human form.

I may or may not have a Caspar sitting in drydock (unassembled and needing paint scheme + decals) i could finish up and add to this thread (And my Azur Lane fleet!) if there are any requests.

I think my vote has to go for Tabby.  She's been a little neglected through all of this and that is partly my fault because I keep feeling like I need to let Cannonshop decide what she gets up to but never really bring that up when we plan what to write.

To keep this an art thread though:

Would a white and black scheme with gold trim be appropriate then?  Also is there a logo you want to see represented on the hull?

I'm very impressed, especially with Larry!

Would you be willing to share some of the prompts you've been using? I've been playing with the same art generator but having trouble getting it to create older characters.

If I remember right it was:
Positive: Larry Nichols, Federated Suns, Space Captain, Old, Lonely
Negative Animal Ears, Face Covering, Face Mask
AOM3 CFG: 10 and default on the last setting as well.

And I now owe you all three more pictures.

The first three all seem to be hung up on the "one eye is off" trope from the main characters of the story.  Perhaps your bot has been infected by that trope? ???

Aside from the blind eye, Larry DOES look perfect!

Technically not my bot, making that distinction for legalese reasons but I know what you actually meant.

Yeah it does that at times but it refuses to do a proper cybernetic eye.

And now by my rules I owe you all three more images.

Sikh.  This one it is jarring enough I kind of want to redo so don't be surprised if you come back and go 'wait a minute...' and no I won't change this line just to mess with people in a good natured way.  :P

Saya Yeh just to break up the cute robot girls with a cute human girl

66 or Juanita.  Yes I know she just showed up not too long ago but I do want this to be a complete cast thread.  Which means I really probably should be applying some sort of organizational standard.

She looks fine to me height wise.  Taller than an Aero phenotype for sure.

And that was just to make me post again wasn't it? :P

Stupid self imposed rules of including three images everytime I post to my own art thread until I run out of art.

Tartar looks like the kind of AI that might burn a world over a short joke.

One of my themes I am going with is each AI wants to be as individualized as possible.  Some of this is because of subcontractors delivering different quality of parts, others because sometimes they were being imprinted from a copy of a copy, and some just wanting to emphasize they are more than just mindless machines.

But yeah I think for Tabby a Black, White, Gold scheme with a Cameron star would be best unless Cannonshop disagrees.

Tartar looks like the kind of AI that might burn a world over a short joke.

Which now makes me more inclined to keep it because now it gives me something of an idea for a personality to give her if I need to bring her up in story.

And now self imposed rule time.

Amusingly, I did start a Tabby miniature - at this point, she needs faction logos and hull numbers and I'd pronounce her done.

Which reminds me...I should post up the Aegis Sybil WIP I have, too.  I'm missing a stand for her at the moment, though, since I decided not to make her an M-6 on this reboot.

She's actually much more of a provacature'.  So much more impish and playful than into masochism.

And now pictures dang nabbit.

She is an AI so this 'uncomfortable' you speak of has a whole different context for her as she does not experience it in a physical sense.

Nope.  I didn't break my rule.  Not even temporarily.  You all saw nothing.  Well except human form AIs.

I have no idea who started that trend in fanart, and I just kinda wish it would stop.

Fine.  I made the bot take another crack at her.

So go back and check to see if that is better.

Also I am actually just about out of robot girls.  I actually have a ton of Alice candidates that I'm not sure which one to go with.

This will serve as a place holder for now for Alice though.

Likewise this one feels off for Billie Siegel

And a much improved Acton Howe that I like much better

AI Stacey Cameron Roberts

I do have a few alternates for consideration for some characters as mentioned but for now that's it.

The sources I have say Howe is a Mechwarrior phenotype bloodname.

Foster seems to trace to Clan Ghost Bear and since they don't use the Aerospace phenotype that could explain Dave Foster's height as well.
