Well, they stole borrowed from the best - the Thanatos Felix was one of the successful entries in Record Sheets: Unique 'Mechs.

Hope they say something nice to the fan who came up with the idea, way back when.

From MW4 I remember it looking like a bunch of boxes stacked together. Not cool enough to pilot myself like the Novacat, but throw it to a lancemate as a placeholder until you get thyself A Mad Cat, like god intended.

Well, PGI, way to completely obsolete the Black Knight. At least we get a dual Gauss Stealth Armor mech out of the deal.

one the one hand, those dual gauss mounts on the effective top of the 'mech make me slightly nervous this thing's gonna reward those stubborn hillhumpers, on the other, i don't see an angle where you can protect your side torsos.....it came out pretty at least!

Well, PGI, way to completely obsolete the Black Knight. At least we get a dual Gauss Stealth Armor mech out of the deal.

I think you'll run into a crit problem with that. ECM is in the side torso on the Thanny in MWO. Then you need two more slots for stealth armor, and then a Gauss rifle. Thats 11 Crits.

That means standard engine only. In MWO, that is going to run you too many tons to have any meaningful ability to re position. Snipers that can't re position.....well, you know what happens to them.

I'm sure some pilots will try this build, but I don't think a Stealth armored slug with two gauss rifles is going to be fun to pilot. When those 8 LMG Mist Lynxes find you, you'll be tearing your hair out.

As far as IS 75 tonners go... The only mech as severely underwhelming to me as the Thanatos is the post-nerf Black Knight.

I love my Resistance Black Knight, still a prime money maker for me and 'Mech I most often almost get Ace of Spades in :(

Not having much luck or enjoyment in the Thanatos. Even with LFE they get focused so bad as easy prey -_-

Might be referring to Apollo. Or, alternatively, Artemis does work differently in MWO then tabletop, so they might work with MRMs after all.

What do you mean? There's no 'MRM-XX+Artemis IV' weapon, and I've never noted a marked increase in missile accuracy when using MRMs with Artemis enabled, and Apollo isn't in this game.

Well, I'm blaming dev oversight if it has Artemis installed, because it doesn't do anything for that variant. Or at least it should not. Because I have four MRM-equipped mechs that at one point had Artemis IV that I never uninstalled, and I never get a benefit from it.

Oh. That just means it has standard, non-Artemis guidance. As in, "Standard Guidance Systems).

So yeah. No Artemis. You can add it, but you'd also need to add the required compatible missile systems (LRMs+SRMs, obviously).
