Magnetic primer and mini storage?
« on: 07 November 2024, 20:19:58 »
Has anyone used magnetic primer (MagnetizeIT! and Rustoleum make this kind of primer paint -- essentially primer with fine iron filings meant to be painted on walls to make them into big magnetic receptors) on carry cases as an alternative to magnet/magnetically receptive sheets in concert with rare earth magnetized mini bases? If so, does it work as good/better/worse than the usual solutions? I was thinking about trying coating a storage bin floor with the primer, but wanted to get some other opinions before taking the financial plunge...

I haven't tried that.

After seeing a guy at a store 1 time using those Cookie Tins as a self contained transport box & finding small magnets from amazon I've gone that way.

That's an interesting idea... I'd be interested to hear how it works! :)

I'm very intrigued by this so called magnetic primer.  Haven't used it nor heard of that type of primer before. Could it (maybe) make modding and assembly easier...-insert thinking emoticon here-

EDIT: also my main concern is being careful not to get it on other objects such as fingertips (remember, kids.  Always wear gloves and a mask when working with sprays such as primers and sealers; this part, within the parenthesis, is meant to be a joke, we all know what to do though)
