So two lessons that I learned in Boy Scouts thirty plus years ago was that if you have a fire: remove the heat and oxygen. I did neither yesterday, in fact I added oxygen. Nor did I tell my wife to grab the kids, get out of the house, and then call 911. Fortunately, she (jokingly) put the fire extinguisher on the floor and I was able to put out the grease fire in our oven. After a 911 call, a fire truck (which my kids loved), a concerned visit by the development salesperson (awesome in her own right), and 14 hours of cleaning we're back to normal.
The fire itself, was both our faults...turns out there can be too much bacon. Heresy I know but...
Long story short, remember the basics, have fire extinguishers, count your blessings, hug people you love, and uh...have a nice week.
