The Rail tracks did look like their nasty too if you walk on top, you can be exposed to everyone shooting at you.
You have to use the buildings for cover; in many places the angles are such that mechs down below have to move into certain more open positions to even just fire at you.
Saw a light medium - Shadowcat i think - today that poised up on the rail in just the right position, unlocked his arms and started firing down at the cluster of assaults bunched down below with a couple HMGs and a single small laser. He killed two or three before the last one could even break out into a position where he could fire up.
Maps brutal one time i did it.
As a city map it's pretty favourable for the heavy ballistics bruisers, although i think that will even out a bit once people learn to use the quirks (such as the rails above).
First match i played on it the last ones standing were a pair of Kodiaks at least one of which ran twin LBX AC/20 and an Atlas with a similar outfit. Easy long-range mid-priority targets on most other maps. And just what i'd expect on a city map.
Last match i played on was the one above, where in the end the enemy assaults within the city were picked off by that Shadowcat exploiting his position on the rails and a single MadCat MkII on the ground while a Uziel and Commando guarded the base outside town and picked off one or two mediums themselves.
The map will remain useless for us artillery mechs of course, there just aren't any angles for us to use so far that i've seen. And i've looked over a couple, including the rails. You'd pretty much need the meat shields to draw em out of the buildings into a handful of the areas on the edges applying an amount of tactics rarely found in Quick Play. About the worst map in that regard.
