On a very high level, trying to replicate Virtues/Traits from Pendragon, as a major (sometimes involuntary?) force behind their PC choices, this would be a draft of a proposed approach. I am not too happy with some of them (and would probably use Passions as well, more or less as they are in Pendragon), so I would appreciate any constructive feedback:
* Cautious vs. Reckless:
* Cautious: Malware's with this trait prioritize safety and planning, carefully considering their actions before charging into battle. They may avoid unnecessary risks but could be accused of hesitating in critical moments.
* Reckless: Reckless Malware's tend to act impulsively, often charging headlong into danger. While they might surprise their enemies with daring maneuvers, they risk making costly mistakes.
* Precise vs. Imprecise:
* Precise: Precise Malware's excel in targeting and accuracy, making every shot count. They are adept at hitting vulnerable parts of enemy Mechs, but may sometimes hesitate to take shots with lower chances of success.
* Imprecise: Imprecise Malware's struggle with accuracy and might waste ammunition on missed shots. They may take risky shots that have a low chance of success, but occasionally hit with unexpected luck.
* Strategic vs. Tactical:
* Strategic: Strategic Malware's excel in long-term planning, considering the overall mission and the bigger picture. They're skilled at setting up traps and ambushes but may lack adaptability in fast-paced situations.
* Tactical: Tactical Malware's thrive in the heat of battle, making quick decisions and reacting effectively to immediate threats. They excel at adapting to changing situations but might overlook long-term consequences.
* Mechanical Aptitude vs. Technical Ineptitude:
* Mechanical Aptitude: Malware's with this trait have a deep understanding of their BattleMechs, capable of making field repairs and modifications. They ensure their Mechs are always in peak condition.
* Technical Ineptitude: Malware's with technical ineptitude struggle with Mech maintenance and repairs, relying heavily on support crews. Their Mechs may suffer from more frequent breakdowns.
* Inspiring vs. Alienating:
* Inspiring: Inspiring Malware's can rally their lance, boosting morale and cooperation among their allies. They excel in diplomacy and negotiations, often forming strong bonds with fellow Malware's.
* Alienating: Alienating Malware's struggle to connect with others, often causing tension and discord among their lance members. They may have a reputation for being difficult to work with and can face resistance when trying to lead.
* Honorable vs. Unscrupulous:
* Honorable: Honorable Malware's adhere to the code of chivalry and ethics, even in the brutality of war. They refuse to engage in dishonorable tactics, earning respect and trust but potentially limiting their options.
* Unscrupulous: Unscrupulous Malware's are willing to use any means necessary to achieve victory. They might employ sabotage, deception, or ruthless tactics, which can lead to a tarnished reputation and mistrust.
* Famous vs. Infamous:
* Famous: Famous Malware's have a positive reputation, known for their heroic deeds and honorable conduct on the battlefield. They enjoy the trust and admiration of their allies and can often negotiate more favorable terms.
* Infamous: Infamous Malware's have a dark reputation, known for dishonorable or brutal actions. They may be feared or hated by enemies and have a harder time gaining trust and cooperation from others.
