Not seemingly this version of the boards (last in 2010, don't remember who the author on that one was).  Honestly, if not for the rear weapons it would be pretty usable, which always struck me as being quite a shame.

I, for one, would love to see an article on the Quickdraw - a mech that I have something of a love/hate relationship with.

In other news, I'm making good progress on the Penetrator article and can probably have it ready within the week if we'd like to carry on with the theme of bouncy energy boats...

I fell out of favour with heaven somewhere, so I'm here for the hell of it now...

JHB, if there is indeed no Quickdraw article, put me down for that in the master thread.  It'll come after the FWLM Age of War designs, but I'd be happy to do it.  I love that little bugger.

I'll try to get to the schedule tomorrow (too many meetings today!).

I see, in no particular order:

Getz: Penetrator
The Eagle: Quickdraw
Me: Gyrfalcon (at some point)

If I'm missing anything, sound off folks, because that carries us through to the last week of April.

Put me down for the Escorpion Emperio in the relatively near future, if you would.

Well, back in the day, I did articles covering whole factions and the ways they use mechs and the mechs they like to use.  I think the Scorpions are a very interesting challenge, since they both combine three different groups from an in character perspective, and two very different tech bases from a tactical perspective.  So I'd like to do an article that speaks to how I think such a force would look and behave, and how to use such a force tactically.

You can but I don't think you need to reserve it in the Mech of the Week thread. Just throw it down when you're ready.

Well, last time I did them they were mech's of the week, but of course things were vastly different back then, nine and ten years ago.  I just don't miss the days of the Mech of the Week wild west, so I'd like to try and play as much ball as possible, rather than stepping on someone's toes in a month.

Just as an FYI to everyone, despite my earlier optimism, my article won't be ready this weekend - but I should be able to put it up next weekend if desired.

A request: Firestarter Omni. It is the only early IS Omni that hasn't been covered.

Also, if someone wants the Vindicator, feel free to take it, i just can't figure what to say about it. Cobbling together an article like the 'Mech is cobbled together doesn't seem... inspiring.
If no one wants it, i can think about it but it will take some time.
BTW, the Vindy was a request... one reason i'm suggesting someone might want to take it, i feel like i'm taking too long to fulfill the request.

Might be able to do Thunder/Lao-Hu or Huron Warrior for this weekend since Getz's article won't be ready. Not 100% sure yet though. Have a couple of writing assignments i need to finish first...

Also, preliminary but i might be writing an article, or a series of articles, about the Celestial 'Mechs. Only half of them are covered at the moment, i think, but i think they need to be thought about as a whole in a way so i'd be writing about all of them. Need to consider this a bit still. Plus i will need to consider the WoB and Manei Domini history while at it.

I've got the old Vindy, so I can update it easy enough on the quick.

OK, that works for me.
While thinking about the Vindy, i realized i like it in principle but not in practice.

Speaking of requests, would anyone mind doing the Blackjack?  There's an article on its omni brother from a year and a half ago, but nothing on the old reliable battlemech version since 2004.

Me: Gyrfalcon (at some point)

I believe i will have either Huron Warrior or Thunder/Lao-Hu up for this weekend if there's need. Might as well keep on writing after other stuff...
Or did someone else have something prepared?

EDIT I think i'll write about the Huron Warrior. The bigger 'Mech pair can wait.

*string of language* I was going to put up the Gyrfalcon after getting bumped aside the past couple of weeks.  #P

Eh. Glad you guys are taking up the mantle here. I'll get the schedule in the original post altered sometime today or tomorrow. From here on I'm going to handle scheduling only and drop the writing end of it, I think we have enough people doing this now.

Fine, but only if you schedule the Gyrfalcon for next. Followed up by the Shrike (by you), the Eyrie (by you), and the Jade Hawk (by you).

Hellbie please keep writing articles.  Yours are very good and I've been looking forward to your thoughts on Gyrfalcons for weeks.

Sorry, Hellbie. I figured that this weekend was open without Getz and the way you listed the articles, i figured the Gyrfalcon was coming later.

As for there being "enough writers", i disagree. I for i'm likely going to stop writing for some time soon (i might not, but i usually focus on BT in short bursts), and should someone else vanish too, there will be holes in the schedule quickly.

Anyway, for the schedule, place Lao-Hu/Thunder after the current line-up has been done in, what, three weeks or so?
And schedule your own Commando and Apollo while at it, please! Even if you were to drop writing, you can still post those at some point, quiaff?

I'll have a non-unit related project to do in the meantime.

I'll add my voice to the chorus singing Baby Please Don't Go for Hellbie.  At the very least, if the article is already written, just give yourself a slot and post it, and at least offer a final parting shot.  But, if there are so many authors, then just take a slot every two months, or every three.  I don't see anyone getting more than one a month at this point, unless things dramatically change.

Fact is, you're still a pretty good hand at this, Hellbie (I've said before that you were a sort of inspiration for me a decade ago) and I think losing your voice altogether would be a disservice.  Now, if you can't because you've got other stuff to do, then who am I to judge?  But don't be discouraged because the hydra of Mech of the Week authors is so insatiable.

Has a MotW been done on the Dragon Fire?  Not a fan of its appearance, but there aren't a whole lot of mechs that mix a GR with an LB-10X.  I did a search but can't find one.

Yes there is: http://bg.battletech.com/forums/index.php?topic=12430.msg294852

You can find most articles from the Fan Article Directory: http://bg.battletech.com/forums/index.php?topic=174.0
Some posted ones are missing from it though, i haven't gotten around collecting them and sending them to chanman to add. The Dragon Fire is not one of those though.
