Hi folks,
I can use the MUL to determine what ASFs I might field as part of a given House or Clan force, but I haven't seen any useful RATs for ASFs in different eras and factions.  I want to get a sense of what's common, not just what's possible.
Is there somewhere an equivalent for Xotl's Mech & Vehicle RATs for ASFs?

Thanks,
Vandervecken

The MUL by era is your best best. Though a Sourcebook or 2 for each era will have RAT's.

In the Battletech Universe there is pretty much extinct and not extinct. Production Numbers have been left to author fiat since the late 80's.

What is common would be what is on the General IS, General Clan, and General Merc Lists by era on the MUL.

Though if you are looking for 12,000 Slayers or 18,000 Stingrays In the Inner Sphere in 2790, those numbers don't exist.

FM3085 and FM3145 both include ASF RATs for factions in those respecrive eras.

Iirc FM:U had them as well for the end of the Civil War/onset of the Jihad eras.

Back in 3025 it was:

Davion:
Sparrowhawk
Corsair
Stuka

Liao:
Thrush
Transit
Transgressor

Marik
Cheetah
Stingray
Riever

Steiner
Seydlitz
Lucifer
Chippewa

Kurita
Sholgar
Shilone
Slayer

Generics were introduced in the original AeroTech game, but not given fluff and variant until TRO: 3075. House names are based on who first built it.

Light:
Sabre (Kuritan)
Centurion (Davionist)

Medium:
Lightning (Capellan)
Hellcat (Terran)

Heavy:
Eagle (Free Worlder)
Thunderbird (Lyran)

Special guest: SL-25 Samurai was a rare Terran design from right around the end of the Star League that was most notably used by a DCMS pilot in the 3025 era, but is now back in production for the Lyrans.

Give you an idea?

Almost every book that has a mech RAT also has a fighter RAT to go with it. Any particular faction or era you're looking for?

Going by Sarna's categories there are just over one hundred basic aerospace fighter designs, versus over six hundred 'Mech designs (not counting variants). ASF RATs are thus bound to be very short lists. Nerd gave the basic rundown as per ye olde TRO3025, with the caveat that Kurita was phasing out the Sholagar and Davion was fluffed to have largish numbers of yet another fighter, though I can't remember which (Centurion ASF?).

It was never quite that simple, not even back in AT1/TRO3025 days.  For example, Kurita produced Reivers under license and reverse engineered the Lucifer to make their own unlicensed Lucifer IIs.

Thanks folks, this is quite useful.
To be clear, I'm trying to put together a list of approximately 20-30 fighters for Inner Sphere, and 20-30 for Clan, that cover a range of sizes and roles (small & fast, big & slow, somewhere in the middle) for the era 3025 to 3075.  Each ASF can be assigned to multiple factions (up to 3) or be generic across the IS/Clans, but I'm trying to make sure the faction assignments make sense.  My factions are:
Inner Sphere:
5 major houses
Comstar
WoB
Rasalhague (can piggyback off Steiner/Kurita ASFs)
St Ives (can piggyback off Davion/Liao)
Wolf's Dragoons (might be hard to find Dragoons-only ASFs)

Clans:
Wolf, Jade Falcon, Ghost Bear, Smoke Jaguar
Steel Viper, Nova Cat, Diamond Shark
Star Adder, Wolf-in-Exile, Hell's Horses

I also don't want to get into a situation where the main IS factions only get shitty 3025-tech ASFs and not some of the later ones.

So getting a sense of what's common in each faction is definitely what I'm looking for.

I'd recommend revisiting your goals.  3025-3075 is a hell of a big span in ASF development.  20-30 spaceframes for the entire Inner Sphere would too slim to represent that.  You've got 21 different ASFs just for the most common stuff just in 3025.  It'll go up from there even before you factor in post-Introtech designs or when you go beyond the most common 21. (the 6 from AT1, and the 15 from TRO:3025)

I'll give you a 20-30 scaled project just for the Introtech fighters in a post if you're interested.

So I went over the Introtehc fighters and I more or less lined up with your suggestions.  I gleaned a few further possibilities from the TRO, such as:
Davion also fields Seydlitzes
Kurita has Sparrowhawks
Marik has Transits
Steiner has Stingrays
Comstar has Sparrowhawks.

I'm moving on to the later airframes, I'm looking at TRO 3067 and 3075, but there are also the upgraded variants of the Introtech fighters to consider for the later eras.
Also, can you give me pointers for the airframes that can be found in Wolf's Dragoons and Comstar militaries?

ComStar would have old Hegemony & SL exclusives . . . the books on TF Serpent talks about it some.  IIRC . . . I want to say it was a . . . Ironsides? which someone misidentified for a friendly fire incident.  I would say check the ComStar RAT in some of the Op Bulldog/Serpent materials such as ER3062.

Thanks for all the help!
I ended up pulling the Hellcat II, the Samurai SL-27, the Trident, the Tomahawk and the Rapier RPR-100 for Comstar.
