"Sarcasm?  We've not had sarcasm 'round these parts since aught five or so."  (wish I could remember what show/movie I was paraphrasing [also, I initial typed 'sacrasm' which I feel like should be a word with a nifty definition]).

Honestly, my assumption is that ALL Kickstarters will take this long. That way if one delivers faster, it's a pleasant surprise.
So to bring this up again, did you see the rage after Palladium's latest update?  570 comments on the update alone because the company decided to sell the base game at Gen Con instead of shipping to backers first and only despite saying the backers were the number one priority.  I'm curious if there are convention provisions to stop protests and angry?

Rorke, I like your spelling rant thread.  As a special for you guys, I shake my head at the officers who when trying to brief the Lightning Carrier technique (F-35B STOVL and LHA-6 USS AMERICA combination) but instead write 'lightening'.  For those who've not experienced labor and delivery, lightening is the movement of baby down the birth canal prior to labor actively starting.

I hope everyone is having a pleasant weekend.

Well, I discovered an original 3025 Tech Readout for 8.00 bucks, so yeah, I bought it. Other than a signature that I don`t recognize on the title page, it seems to be in good shape for its age.

Was my Saturday to work. What's usually a nice relaxing day to get caught up on stuff, I had issue after issue. Between our Symantec Database wigging out and a FOIA Act request, my day was one crisis after another.

Now we're relaxing and playing music while the girl plays with her blocks and I'm contemplating building a Filtvelt lance from the new Boxed Set minis and a Merlin I have chilling.

Abigail is 15 months and she spends most of time just playing with her toys and more or less oblivious to what's on TV unless it's music, cartoons or Frozen. We still don't watch, say "Games of Thrones" when she's in the room, but we do have a little more leeway then we will in a few more months when she really starts to pay attention.

Watching the little one get you all excited for having a little one of your own?

He has either CeeBeeBees (children's BBC) or NickJnr on a lot of the time but mostly just potters around doing his own thing

Not sure I'm ready for one of my own but Rosie did most (all!) of the work

I changed one diaper in my entire life before Abigail showed up. You learn QUICK.
Besides you've already been exposed to all kinds of nasty stuff, so there should be no surprises for you there.

You know what's fun, changing multiple diapers in succession.  At least the toddler is on a bit of a schedule; the infant never really stops so it is like body function roulette.  Oh, the bulging disk in my back flared again after four months of relative quiet so bending over the crib or getting on the floor to change diapers adds another dimension of roulette to the mix.

Good times...

Greetings from Dongguan China. Not for vacation, but work related for two weeks.

For the record, the 16 hour flight from Chicago to Hong Kong is horrible. The three hour drive after that to Dongguan doesn't help either. I left last Thursday at 1PM and arrived in Hong Kong at 6:30 PM Friday. There is a 13 hour time zone change also... Ugh.

The weather is 87+ degrees with 92 to 96% humidity, EVERY DAY. Note to self: Do not go to China in July if you can.

I am sooo looking forward to going to Gen Con.

Darn. Makes my travel to Port Hadlock, WA for Annual Training seem like nothing. I'm sure the drivers in China are worse than the ones on I-5.

Also, I'm working in a class for driving a forklift loaded down with ammo.

My folks are going to Shanghai in September for about a month, they have been going to Hong Kong on and off for years now, wish I could have told you to stay away from there during the summer months though it looks like you couldn't do anything about it anyway since work is...well work.  ;)

Hi all. All this talk about children reminds me why I didn't want any. Of course I won't have any family to change my diapers when the dementia kicks in, but I won't care at that point anyway.

On a more positive note my first day at the new job went really well.

Finished the class this afternoon. I passed, and I will quite possibly never have to drive a forklift in operation.

Congratulations, I think hehe.

Been busy playing yet more CoH2 and also on the official forums there.  There's been
a big community issue about one of the games mechanics.  It's been fascinating for me
to watch, and somewhat disturbing too.  So much rage sheesh, I honestly wonder if
some folks act that way in real life too.  I imagine not, or there'd be a lot more people
up on assault charges.

Of course there's always the odd one.  When I was a stores junior manager, I was
asked to speak to a customer by one of my staff.  So I asked him what the matter was
prior to speaking to the customer.  He'd bought a pager (it was the late 90s), and it was
broken.  But not by fault, the thing had been physically abused.    So I talked to the guy
and asked him to repeat his story, and told him after that I couldn't help if he'd ruined it
himself.  At which point he told me that he'd break me, if I told him it was broken by him
again.  At that point I looked around, and every single male member of staff present was
stood right behind me.  The man who cuts slack for folks, is the man who gets his back
covered.  So our angry customer backed down, but refused to leave after being politely
requested to do so.  Calling the Police I tell him, to which he says no problem.  Not wanting
to waste Police time, and being of the mind he was all bluster now.....I called the speaking
clock.  Told the speaking clock that I required help removing a abusive customer, and he was
already halfway out the door.  Ahhhh retail, never again if I can bloody well help it!

I've had to call real police to sort out some violent or threatening violence patients... most satisfying when you get the SWAT-wannabe Armed Response Unit for Dorset turning up as bored as some little **** is threatening me and the Sister in Charge

Also the security at King's College Hospital were good in a tight spot and understood someone was in pain and confused but also a large lad and rather strong so needed pinning down to get the sleepy medicine into him

Or just anti-social.  If my welcome home from the work week had been more welcoming I might have beaten you to the punch with this e-mail.

How is everyone's weekend looking?  We decided to skip Brickfair (a Lego convention) this year because the kids are quite manageable where strollers aren't allowed yet.

I believe in second-hand verification at the most in order to believe a place exists. If a believable source can tell me they've seen a location with their own eyes, I'll believe them. But none of this friend-of-a-friend-of-an-ancestor crap. To this day, I'm unconvinced of the reality of Austria.

So, you'd believe in a New York but not the original York?!

The Peak District is in what people like me think of as the Midlands officially so we ignore it for the most part but I have been captivated by how beautiful it is as an area and it is closer to me in London by several hours than the Lake District or Yorkshire Dales

Weirdly a lot of the place names seem to have been used by JK Rowling for surnames in the Harry Potter books

I make an exception for that, simply because I know humans aren't imaginative enough to name something 'New X' if the original 'X' didn't already exist.
