Also House Kurita needs more foxgirls.

Honestly, House Kurita already killed their catgirls, and now you want them to murder another group of hybrid abominations or possible Sea Foxes. Mon Dieu, homme! Give the Combine some time in between genocides.

I don't mind if the IlClan doesn't come out, as long as something does and it moves the story forward and I get new stuff to play.
all I know is I can't wait to see what's next.  :)

Hi,

My point is: Plans can change. There's actually quite a bit of material that has been written which may now never see the light of day.

Also part of my point: If The ilClan were canceled, that future you appear concerned with is gone with it, replaced with the same wide unknown all of us face day to day. If all you are concerned with is "the future", well, you can never really escape that. But if you're fearing a particular future, I'm suggesting that it may not be as certain as all that. Again, plans can change.

Thanks,

-
So instead of Earth-616 we get Earth-2097. *shrug* If the stuff that's been written is good enough, I'm sure someone will find a use for it somewhere/somewhen.

I'm little conflicted if the IlClan thing is dropped.   Having empire dominating the Inner Sphere (Hey, there was a 1st Star League for petty sakes..) it could have rised and fall at wink of eye...say a century.  Then suddenly, we have new Succession War going, by hot going that way, we'll just have just unorganized mess we have muddle through.  I trust CGL, but i don't like what i thinking right now.  Hope something does come out that gives franchise direction.

No fiction is bad enough, but jump start would been nice too.  Now we may have wait for 5-10 year jump every other year.

That, or Herb is learning from his minions and doing a Ben Rome on us.

I'd love to see an ilClan come to dominate the Sphere and realize only too late that such power and empire is a poisoned chalice that will the death of the Clan that gained the glory.

I don't know if ilClan was ever on the coming prducts page, but it's not now.

With that beign said, I eagerly look forward to the unknown country and a future that's not set in stone. The continually advancing and unpredictable BT universe has thrilled me for over 25 years now and I suspect it will continue to do such for a long time

Most of humanity loses any name past their first except for the tenth billionth percent who are Blood Named(Lab names are an internal honor if they even exist after the Society Debacle and carry no coolness factor outside of Clan Labs) leading to people wondering if they want to meet up with Fred Wolf, Fred Wolf, or Frederick Wolf.  Confusion abodes especially in postal delivery. The most interesting faction is suddenly . . . the Caledron Protectorate who the Clans ignore since it doesn't border the Inner Sphere exactly. The Marian Hegemony would be around as well for similar reasons, but they'd still have that awful emblem. Thus, they have to sit in the corner and weep for lack of coolness.

Honestly, the most interesting thing would be the hundred of stories of rebellions against the Clans while actually. . .  the first few of them would be awesome. After the tenth, readers would probably claimer for the Clans to die already to prevent confusion over who was the janitor in that one scene was Fred Wolf, Fred Wolf or Sven Wolf. Eventually Clan society would be unable to deal with all of the so-called bandits including the social outliers that appeared in some Inner Sphere societies such as the hippies of Gogh-Bukowski, and eventually it would collapse due to the lack of social mobility and the eternal enemy of all societies stagnation.

The Clans as a fictional force lose all kinds of interesting aspects once they achieve their goal. The next interesting point for some  is when the corruption or "taint" sets in. Sibkos of overly overfed sibkins barely fitting in their cockpits for example would be a good one for some since it would show the decline of the Clans as elites to pampered nobility that they once looked down on.

The better course is to probably give the Clans Terra but not the entire Inner Sphere since that gives them something to keep going for as oppose to becoming complacent and tainted, but that's my nickel's worth of opinion on the issue.

I think that there is an interesting phenomenon that has happened with battletech.

The setting has always been dictated by novels that they followed with sourcebooks. So this is the first product that is the future. So far they have all been named and written about something written before...

So now ive got this funny scenario in my head where the developers are on a conference call and say,

"Maybe we should not title the book with its conclusion when the fans do not know what is coming."

I find myself after reading Kitsune413's comments, thinking that the Developers are try to overall act as a council of GMs running Battletech as big campaign for everyone.  Only problem with that, is the campaign has to be profitable so they can afford to produce stuff for us.

They want to surprise us, but not jar and scare us off at same time.  Given how fiery responses get, its hard not to see its a sensitive subject.

Sadly, i think its easier to produce things in past "Eras" than in current and pushing beyond into the future.  Perhaps too many people holding on to the past.  Since the game is no longer a continue story in form of novels.

If you pay attention to the way posters comment towards Ben Rome their comments are very similar to the way most player groups talk about their gm's.

I can also say having met Ben Rome I connected to him on that level. He is a gamemaster, being one myself I related.

Aside from what now is rumored sundered IlClan book, What is left in the we actually know were getting for sourcebooks/play books.   I suspect 3145 is going to be very long year if Herb message is correct.

Field Report 2765: LCAF (or Lyran Commonwealth 2765)
Field Report: 2765: Perphery

Operational Turning Points: Widowmaker Absorption
Operation Turning Point: REVIVAL Trials

Handbook: House Kurita

Experimental Technical Readout: Primitives IV
Experimental Technical Readout: Republic

Alpha Strike Companion

Republic book must just been added, i hadn't seen that one up there before.  Here comes the Orca.

I've said nothing about The IlClan being "sundered". I merely said the future as I once teased it is no longer guaranteed to happen as stated. Please do not jump to extreme conclusions.

Thanks,

As long as we do not end up stuck in the year 3145 for the next 3-5 years I am happy.  As much as I love Battletech as a whole, I always thought the MW:DA one year for one year advancing storyline was a cool concept.

I hate the "look" of plastic miniatures, but if they are anything as detailed as what you can see in the packaging images...these may be a hit. Pricing wise, seems good to me...hopefully they will sell well. If enough interest is in them from the community, I'll definitely carry them in my online store.
