When it comes to animated works especially, there's basically nothing that has a fast enough production time that it can make jokes about current events that won't be already dated by the time the episode airs.  South Park is the only exception I can think of, since they bang episodes out the same week they're going to show.

House of the Dragon season 2 (2024) This remains my fav series in recent memory, but it has slipped a little after its amazing first season. This season feels more like filler time, when both sides make preparations for all-out war but never go through with it other than a skirmish or two. Also Daemon is sidelined for most of the show, dealing with ghosts of his past and all that, which I thought really weakened the whole plot. All in all, still good, but I hope it gets better. Rating 7.5/10

Good news for you: you've probably read the book, but from the pacing, Season 3 will be an orgy of battles and death and dragons (and their deaths).  Starting with the Battle of the Gullet, there is a lot of fighting to cover before you get to Season 4 and the "resolution" of the Dance of Dragons.

I didnt read the books (I just cant get into fantasy stuff except for The Worm Ouroboros), but I felt the pacing was off. They should have ended the last episode with an actual battle (and its consequences) instead of pushing everything back to the next season that would overload everything with war instead of spreading it out. Season 2 doesnt have any closure for me.
