WiE Alpha Galaxy (Update)
« on: 03 September 2019, 20:52:05 »
As much as it hurts to not make the Savage Coyote a Clan Coyote scheme, I wanted to test out a Wolf in Exile Alpha Galaxy scheme before I try my hand at some new ones.

Any suggestions on adjustments?

Brown base coat after primer.
HEAVY drybrush of a dark red.
Grey for the accents.
Silver for weapons.
Heavy wash, especially on the grey.
Finishing touches, with a light red (almost pink) drybrush to mark the edges.

Looks pretty good overall.  Based on this photo alone, the only thing I might suggest would be a little more highlighting on the red panels.  I can see it on the grey sections, but not so much on the red.  But again, that good just be a trick of the camera.

Added a fresh Savage Wolf A and Black Wolf Battlearmor.  Still need basing but I am happy with how they turned out.

Savage Wolf A conversion idea 100% stolen from Psycho's phenomenal Ghost Bear figure on Camo Specs.

In other news, I still need lots of practice with greenstuff.

Notes the "red highlights on brown" for future use .. the cockpits are very sharp!

I have those ATM9 racks to make my favorite Timber Wolf E, nice to see them used on the Savage . . . pin the arms?

Thank you all for the encouraging words.

Notes the "red highlights on brown" for future use ..
So I have actually been contemplating if the step is necessary based on how heavy I wash them.  But I can tell a slight difference from my Sword of Light mechs which use pretty much the same technique and colors just without the brown bottom coat.

I see you are also a person of refinement and taste,  Timber Wolf E is my favorite as well.  Though I usually strip out some ammo to add ER Med lasers back.

No pin at the moment.  Making weekly offerings to the Gorilla glue god in hopes I never have to do so.  That will be an entirely new adventure if I end up having to.

Loctite's super glue ultragel is also very good and doesn't expand like the regular Gorilla glue does.  It's held strong for me through some bad mini accidents.
