==Background==
One of the victorious generals of the Twentieth Century’s Second World War said one his most important weapons in that victory were his trucks. In today’s day and age they are just as important; any general interested in victory pays as much attention to his trucks as to his BattleMechs.
==Capabilities==
The Sandia Mechanica Bue series of trucks has been the Aporian Republic Guard’s primary cargo hauler for the past five decades. The chassis is also used for a variety of other duties.
In keeping with the Republic’s economy, the truck’s powerplant, a fuel cell, uses anhydrous ammonia rather than hydrogen or a petrochemical. Ammonia is easy to manufacture if water or another hydrogen source is available and much easier to handle with a much high energy density (joules per cubic meter) than hydrogen.
The basic chassis in an 8 x 8 with hub-mounted motors at each wheel for simplicity; all 8 wheels are steerable. The cab is only big enough for the driver, co-driver and one passenger, but numerous storage bins are mounted around the vehicle for extra storage. Most trucks are also equipped with extra fuel tanks, an exhaust condenser to generate drinking quality water and other items (see list below).
The most common variant of the truck is the cargo hauler, which comes equipped with a lift hoist capable of lifting a loaded standard shipping container (10 tons). The cargo hauler is frequently paired with a T10 cargo trailer, allowing for a load of over 25 tons at better than average convey speeds (MP4/6). If paired with a T20 cargo trailer the combination 35 tons at standard convey speeds (MP3/5).
==Organization & Use==
Aporian Republic Guard medium transport platoons typically are equipped with 6 Ox cargo haulers with T10 cargo trailers, 6 lighter Packmule cargo haulers with trailers and 2 Hack general purpose vehicles for liaison. Heavy transport platoons are typically equipped with 12 Ox cargo haulers paired with T20 cargo trailers and 2 Hack general purpose vehicles.
