We have a small but important change we're making to the rules here on the forums. This will be effective immediately upon this announcement, and an update will be made to the rules page in the next couple of days as well.
There's been a remarkable uptick recently in harassment and bullying on the forums, and it hasn't gone unnoticed. We're dismayed that it needs to be addressed so directly, really, but our hand is forced at this point. So, the change will be to the 'list of permaban offenses':
Offenses that may result in an automatic ban:
Communicating any kind of threat.
Serious and continued instances of online harassment.
Circumventing an existing ban
Simple stuff. Disagree with your fellow posters, no problem. Insult them personally, get a warning. Carry on an extended string of bullying and harassment against them, and you won't be here anymore. Period.
I'm happy to discuss any of this via PM (or e-mail if you prefer), and as always thank you for being part of our community here- hopefully today's rules change will make it a little friendlier place to be for everyone.
