For clarity, that's a hard "no" on changing quirks on the Panther, a soft "yes" on swapping the SRM-4 for Lasers, and a "are you crazy?" on disengaging the Field Inhibitor.

Daryk, what is up with that last entry? You did a quote vs actual post.   Was there a revision?

Shocking on the hard no...
Happy on the Yes

And when your personal tech looks at you and give you

Priceless

Yes, 2d6 rolls, based on your Career/Engineer skill with all factors already accounted for.

Wow, it totally forgot about this...

so I rolled a 7 (1+6) and my Career/Engineer is 2 (base 5), so... a 9?

I already factored in your Engineering skill when I gave you the target numbers, so you had a MOS of 4 on the first roll (target was 3, you rolled a 7).  That means the Engineering work for removing the Ammo Bin takes 20 minutes.

Sounds about right. Getting to it takes the most time.

Ok, so that's MOS 5 for the Heat Sink install: 10 minutes
MOS 2 for the SRM-4 Removal: 100 minutes
MOS 1 for the first Laser: 110 minutes
and MOS 2 for the second, +1 for the previous roll: 90 minutes

With the 20 minutes for the ammo bin removal, that's 330 minutes of Engineering work overall.  Not bad!

All in a days work. would have been faster, but I had a hell off a time trying to find the right tools, the techs really head to lean some organizational skills

my idea to disengage the PPC Field Inhibitor for knife fighting

Disengaging Inhibitor and Overcharging rules, TO pg. 103

2d6 Feedback
1 Hex 10+
2 Hex 6+
3 Hex 3+

Followed by critical slot damage if less AND the PPC's damage value straight to the IS.

Overcharging gives additional 2d6 extra damage per shot, BUT,  it also produces same amount in heat! AND a critical slot damage Plus the above 2d6 roll for Feedback. But wait, there's more... It EXPLODES, destroying weapon if you fail!

Don't do it DOC!

Am I just over looking DOC_Agren's original post about the PPCs?

Yeah, Ranjeet would NOT do it in our current situation.

Also TT, I am seeing those rules on page 101-2

Now that I am thinking about it, have we scouted the others out yet? Do we know or have an idea of what forces we are up againts?

Renzi's guys are detailed in this thread (post #8, on the first page).  The Wolf Skinners' senior Tech and a couple of other people were with them for a couple of days early on and got a slightly better look than Renzi intended.  Warrant Cantrell (the S-2) is a good debriefer... ;)
