First game ever.  I was piloting a Grasshopper.  Got between a Rifleman and Black Knight who teamed up to kick me to the ground.  Struggled and failed to stand for two turns before my pilot finally knocked himself unconscious.

Good game.

Ed's wanting to do a followup on 14 December at G&S.  I guess since we've not heard from Cubby in almost two weeks, we'll just do that.

It's going to be a continuation Ed's campaign with mostly vehicles and light/medium mechs on the table.

Hi all,

I thought I'd be pretty clear about doing this Saturday, but reading back into the thread, I can see that I maybe wasn't. Honestly, I've been so slammed with Kickstarter-related stuff, I haven't been able to get my 'Mechs in a row to actually play, so if Ed wants to follow-up his previous game, by all means, he should. I might try to stop by and say hello, depending how the day shakes out and how much writing I get done this week.

Back on track in January, I hope.

Definitely drop by Cubby.  Yeah, we just were'nt sure due to the language.  It's all good.  Be sure to check the Virginia thread too as we're planning our January game in there too.

So, any idea if someone is running a game in January?

If not, I can run something.
Did you hear about the LEGO store grand opening?  People were lined up for blocks...

I sent a message to Paul letting him know I would be willing to put on a game in February if he is unable to.  It would have to be the last weekend due to the fact that I'm running a game on the 22nd for the VA group.

It was probably going to be a Jihad or an Amaris Civil War scenario.  If people want something different, lemme know.

Let's do February 29th then.  I'll plan on running an Amaris Civil War game; I'll finally get to use those Behemoths that have been sitting around.

Nah, I'll pass.  50 hour weeks these four weeks of training is enough for me to never want more.  Miss you

I did 120 hours a week for six weeks in Baghdad, until I got a new boss who asked me outright what I was doing to myself.  I sat down to add it all up, and that's when I figured out it was 120.  I physically hurt all the time, and it apparently showed.  He cut me back to 90, which felt pretty good.  Then I went on my mid-tour leave, and he cut me back to 80 when I came back, which felt awesome.  It was seven days a week the whole time.

My second year at SIXTH Fleet, I was in the office every Saturday.  Only for a few hours, and my boss did the same thing on Sundays.  This was 2014, and I think saying any more than that would run right into Rule 4...

There's a reason I call my current job "respite" from the Pentagon.  It looks like I'll cycle back to the building in about 17 months.  Three more years of that, and they'll kick me out...

Yeah, long hours are...yeah...

One time in the Navy while we were in port, a motor necessary to start up one of the main engines shorted out and caught fire.  We were suppose to get underway in 6 days.  I was up for over 90 straight hours trying to detach the motor that had melted to the housing of the reduction gears and then install the new motor; which had the mounting plate welded onto it incorrectly.  So we had to disassemble the new motor, flip it around, test it to make sure it spun properly before installation.

That was a fun experience.

Realized that you meant February 29th, and I'll be out of town.  Will still do an event in Facebook though.

I haven't been up to Games & Stuff before, but my faction is Eridani Light Horse.  If I used SLDF-era 'mechs, would that work?

I was going to have premade forces.  I will need some help with some miniatures though.  There are some Star League era mechs that I do not have.  We could use proxies, but I prefer to have the actual models if possible.

I have in mind an assault by the SLDF against a stronghold held by Amaris forces.  The BV advantage will be in favor of the SLDF, but this is an objective-based game.  Amaris loyalists will have some goodies to play around with and the benefit of terrain being in their favor.

I'm going to be bouncing ideas off of several people as I tweak the order of battle; but I wanted to let everyone know I have made a good start at designing the next game.

Does anyone know of another game store in MD?  I tried to schedule a day for the game and was told by Games and Stuff that they are booked through April.
