The Tuesday streams cover everything Catalyst is working on so there isn't a full summary but here is the BattleTech news from them:

Week 1:

- 40th Anniversary Mug is coming
- Force Manual Davion comes out in March
- Cookbook has been named "The Art of Food"
- Most of the Kickstarter releases at retail by August
- Barring a shipping problem Kickstarter fulfillment will be in June.
- Quarter Master Logistics will be handling US Fulfillment

Week 2:
- Absolutely nothing, this episode was pretty much just talking about Leviathans.

Week 3:
- Mystery Salvage Box
- SLDF Command Lance is on the boat and should make a late March release as scheduled (barring issues at port)

Most of this weeks episode was about the Runefire announcement, plus a good chunk was Randall going on about BattleTech Universe again.

There is a Battletech card game coming out. It uses the same system as Bravest Warrior and Shadowrun Encounters.

That was announced as part of the Kickstarter, it was even included in the Regiment pledge

Yeah, that's the one.  There's a play-through of a prototype copy on the Adepticon streams

hold yer yappin' varmits ... What mystery salvage box? I have picked up that it was mentioned in the Tuesday Update and that it would not be part of the KS.

Nevermind, the more I think about it the more "Mystery Salvage Box" says it all.  How about when?

No, as we've already seen them.

Thank you much, kind sir.  I skipped a beat when I heard "at Adepticon" but then picked up that next bit of it going out to stores too.

It is.

There are cards, but press your luck dice are the core mechanic.

I’m looking forward to Encounters. Sounds like an easy game I can play with the kids with minimal setup.

I've got the Shadowrun one, it's a fun little game, very good when you've got a half hour to spare.

There’s a little bit of rules text on the cards. (And obviously the game has printed rules) what do you consider too much?

I have a 5 year old who dislikes reading. 😆

As long as the game does not require him to read, he’ll enjoy it. He loves games like Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, etc. Things like Exploding Kittens, TCGs, etc would be too much for him since they require reading.

There's a bit of reading in the Shadowrun one, generally you'll have a megacorp card for each player with a special ability, a scene card with an ability, and one or more runner cards that you can use which also have abilities.  The actual gameplay is that you'll have a challenge card in front of you with a target number, you roll a bunch of D6s (default is 6 at the start of your turn) and need to assign dice to the challenge who's total exactly matches the target number.  You can then choose to score the card or flip over another one, rolling only the dice you didn't assign to the prior card.  If you can't match a target the next player can choose to roll the remaining dice and pick up the points or start from scratch.  If you match a target with all your dice you replenish your dice pool and start a second row of scoring cards that are 2 points each, and then 3 points if you do it again.

The corp and runner cards generally let you roll additional dice and/or pick a specific dice result to be wild.  You spend points to buy runners and they're generally one-shot.

Very cool. Sounds like enough reading that it might be a motivator for him but not enough to impede gameplay. Looking forward to it.

Here's the VOD of the Encounters playthrough at Adepticon last year.  You can see some of the ways they've changed the rules - victory points are separate from the currency used to buy powerups, where they were the same in Shadowrun and there are different types of upgrade dice.

When Randall said it's something we've never seen before I feel that could preclude the Galahad / Glass Spider as we've seen the concept sketch and 3D renders on Anthony's Patreon.

I thought about the Ares but I felt it was too big to be considered a Salvage Box.

Randall did can the mystery release a "Salvage Pack" instead of a "Salvage Box", that could be him mixing up the name of the type of release while tired from moving or it could be an indication that this is something new. A single packed Ares would be between the size of a Salvage Box and a Force Pack.

Its probably not an Ares, but not impossible.

Considering there's a video when they were talking about the Target Essentials box and kept mentioning Yen-Lo-Wong I don't see that as meaningful as he initially said Force Pack and changed it to Salvage Pack.
