Hello, some years ago (last time I was playing BT a lot), a friend of mine made a sweet little formula for me to use in excel to calculate acceleration for drop-ships (or any other vessels). But I don't have any contact with him any more, and I've lost the floppy-disc with the formula, and I'm too #P in math to manage to recreate it (sort of lostech for me ^-^ )

So, here's the question: does anybody know how I can make a formula (or find a proper allready existing formula in excel) that can calculate the following:

You enter a system that have -say 7 days at 1g; to reach the system. After going for 2 days, you encounter an enemy; what's your speed by now?

As I remember it, we said that at the end of day one (at 1g), you were at 1 speed, and had travelled 1 "hex", at day two, you were at 2 speed, and had travelled 3 "hexes", at day 3 you were at 3 speed, and had travelled 6 hexes, etc

I've made the table, and can keep using that, but it was much more comfortable just having the formula, beeing able to calculate how much time it would take to travel the 298 hexes from the hidden asteroid-factory "Plutt" to the "nadir jump-point", or how much time it would take to travel if you alter the acceleration during the trip (say you have to go to 1,5g. acceleration in order to catch up on a invation-scedule, etc)

-so any math-geniuses out there that can help a poor drop-ship-captain with a broken navigation-computer?
