New Munition House Rules

Hey all,

Loving some of the munitions in classic, our group came up with these ammo types. Feel free to comment!

Anti-Radiation Missiles (ARADs):

Anti-Radiation missiles are available to units with the LRM or SRM special. If targeting a unit that is actively emitting an electronic warfare (EW) field such as LPRB, PRB, BH, LECM, ECM, AECM, etc., apply 1 additional point of damage to the target on a successful hit from the unit’s standard weapon attack. If the attacker using ARMLs chooses to attack with just its LRM or SRM special, apply a –2 to-hit modifier for the attack, instead of the damage modifier. ARMLs may also be used IF attacks, applying 1 additional point of damage to the target on a successful hit. The unit may choose to make an IF attack using only the LRM special abilities’ long range damage value instead of the IF value, and applying a -2 to-hit modifier rather than the damage modifier. The listed EW is considered to always be emitting unless either stated by a rule to not be (I.e. STL), or the unit has disabled it (if possible) in the previous round's end-phase.

Top Attack Missiles (TAMs):

Top Attack Missiles are available to units with the LRM special. TAMs add an additional +1 to standard attacks. On a successful hit, the attacking unit rolls 2d6.  On a 9 or higher, the attacking unit may roll for a critical hit against the unit. If the attacker using TAMs chooses to attack with just its LRM special, it receives a -1 to IF instead. TAMs do not trigger critical hits against targets that cannot receive critical effects.  Top-Attack missiles also do not trigger motive hits on ground vehicles, and may not be used against airborne targets.

Field Artillery Cluster Artillery Munition (FASCAM):

Field Artillery Cluster Artillery Munition is available only to units with the ARTS-#, ARTT-#, or ARTLT-# specials. Attacks using FASCAMs are resolved using standard artillery rules. FASCAMs cover a 2” AoE template centered on the point of impact. FASCAMs will scatter on a missed attack, as per normal artillery rules. Instead of damage, FASCAMs deliver a conventional minefield to the target area. This minefield has a density value equivalent to the artillery weapon's normal damage value (in the case of LT it would be the 2” damage value), and follows all of the rules for minefields (see pp. 102-103). Units within an area when it is struck by a FASCAM do not need to check for mines as they move out of the area later, but will need to check for mines if they re-enter the mined area later.

As a note, these are BETA rules.  We're still tweaking things a bit (Especially ARAD).
