Another one of the Operation REVIVAL OmniMechs, the
Nova (
Black Hawk) showed up rarely in the original TRO. It seems to have been outshone by the
Stormcrow in gameplay and popularity but the
Nova had an important leg up:
it had a plastic CityTech miniature.
This fortnight, we're covering the
Nova (
Black Hawk) and its descendants, the
Black Hawk-KU and the MWDA-influenced
Black Hawk.
The sculpts I know about are:
- The original sculpt was released in metal by Ral Partha (20-610) and in resin.
- The plastic CityTech miniature, which I believe was based on but not quite identical to the metal sculpt. (I have neither so I can't prove it.)
- Iron Wind Metals has three sculpts available, but I'm not sure which came first. The H configuration is 20-359, the A configuration is BT-013, and the Prime configuration is BT-014. I suspect these are all based on the same resculpt but I'm not completely sure. (I haven't seen any good shots of the H to know for sure.)
- Iron Wind Metals also has a BF-scale model of the H configuration, 20-9126.
The
Black Hawk-KU, the Inner Sphere's copy of the Clan 'Mech, only has a single sculpt, 20-907. (Surprisingly, at least to me, this is not an archived miniature.)
The standard BattleMech
Black Hawk (how is this not confusing?) also only has a single sculpt, 20-441. I'm not sure how this sculpt differs from the MWDA figures since I missed the MWDA years.
So there we have it. Please post any miniatures you'd like to share, old or new,
Nova or
Black Hawk or
Black Hawk-KU! And thank you for reading!
Our next fortnight's 'Mech will be the
Commando.
