2014 Con Specials Announcement (Updated 8/2/2014)

Here is the first announcement for the 2014 Con Specials. We will be adding more to this announcement as more items are confirmed.

This year there is a theme to all specials and that has to do with 3145. All of the con specials are new equipment from that Era.

When we have pictures they will be posted.

NOTE: Ares and Poseidon miniatures are the same size. The Poseidon was created from Ares parts and the decision made during Modeling of it was to not shrink the Poseidon down

I'm super excited for this mini. I really didn't think it would be produced. However, I've a question; will the standing pose be available via the website? Will it be generally available at some point or will it only appear during certain periods of time?

Whatever the answer I'll do whatever is necessary to acquire a lance  :D

What on/off earth gave you the impression that this 'mech would never be produced? It might take a while, but barring the Unseen, I don't think there's ever been a BattleMech RP/IWM has flat out refused to make. Seriously, I gotta know what made you think this. ???

Judging by past experience, it will be available online at some point. (Don't ask for a timeframe, best I can give you is sometime between yesterday and Ragnarok.)

I just figured it would get put on the back burner for an extended period of time such that if it was released it would be long after other newer TROs and minis. I'm thrilled that I was wrong.

Actually this has me reassessing my Tau Ceti Lancers project; if there's some Cappellan love coming our way then I may start collecting appropriate minis.

No worries. It just gets to me when people comment asking is IWM will "ever" make mini X or say that mini Y will "never" get made, when it's pretty clear that IWM is trying their damnedest to make a miniature of EVERYTHING in the ground game. It might take a while, sometimes and extremely long while, but I'm pretty sure that the odds of any given ground combat unit getting a mini is roughly 100%. If it's not out, it only means it's not out YET.

The aero side is another matter, for understandable reasons. Even there, it's more often than not just a matter of being patient.

Well, the fact that this is a thread about 2014 Con Specials tells us that it will be released at a con. Past experience tells us that if it'll be at any con, it'll be at GenCon. GenCon does not take place in December.

So therefore...what does logic tell you?

It is the same as the Omega and Super Griffin. Originally released at the con in limited number and then released on the website a few months later. The jumping version will probably come eventually but only after many years.
