Miniature of the Fortnight #69: Glass Spider (Galahad)

Technical Readout: 3055 brought us two examples of what looked like the Clans' take on the Rifleman, the Rifleman IIC and the Glass Spider (Galahad).  Since we've already looked at the Rifleman IIC, we'll look at the Glass Spider (Galahad) this fortnight.  The Glass Spider (Galahad) like the Rifleman is a fire support 'Mech and is described as an air defense 'Mech, which is backed up by the presence of the AWACS-style dome radar on top.  Like the other Clan BattleMechs in TRO: 3055, it became Unseen and then Reseen.  To learn more about it, see its entries in TRO: 3055 and Technical Readout: Project Phoenix.

There has been a sculpt for each of the major Glass Spider (Galahad) variants, although two of them are out-of-print and Unseen:

• The original Unseen sculpt for the primary variant (20-624).
• The Unseen sculpt for the Glass Spider (Galahad) 2 (FT-009).
• The Reseen sculpt for the Glass Spider (Galahad) 3 (20-347).

Glass Spider. Clan Ghost Bear.

I have a Galahad and a Galahad 3 (modded to match the artwork) in colors of my Star Adder Tau Galaxy and one SL Galahad version for early Clan Widowmaker.

Here are three of the early ones. Two of the 20-624 and 2 of the FT-009. First one on the left is a generic brown the first one I painted some 30+ years ago. The second is a Ghost Bear scheme that followed a couple of years later. The third is a private Clan Goliath Scorpion unit the Black Swans. The two FT-009 are in a Clan Coyote canon unit scheme.

Here is my trio.  First one is is in a scheme matching the VMI colors, second is a desert style.  The Galahad itself is in green and white Star League scheme.
